Best Hot Tub/Whirlpool on Harbor

Ok Guys,

Here's Robyn's next odd question.

My husband and I like to hit the hot tub to relax aching legs after a day at the park. :cool1:

Right now we're looking at HOJOs and Fairfield Inn. Any comments on the hot tub at either?

I like the Fairfield because I can get a king bed and a sofa in the room.

Any other option on Harbor that meets these requirements: "nice" hotel, king beds, sofa (doesn't have to open up to a bed-just someplace comfy to sit that's not the bed if we happen to be in the room), nice hot tub, close enough to walk to for a break during the day?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

To offer a comparison level for "nice", I like the moderates at WDW and can be talked into the values if the price is good enough. No need to do deluxe.

Thanks in advance.

I liked Tropicana's hot tub! It was very large and right next to their main pool. It was never crowded and I was there at their peak summer season. It is in the middle of a parking lot though--which makes it convenient from all the rooms, as it is in the center of the property. The motel itself is at almost at the crosswalk to Disneyland and at Disney any extra steps you save will be much appreciated by your sore feet. The whole property is well maintained, clean but does not, in my opinion, have the WDW moderate feel to it. More like a value.

I stayed at the Tropicana suites and they had a very nice living room, with a sofa bed and two large bathrooms. One bathroom was shower only and the other had a whirlpool tub. Nice, clean and spacious! Right next to their continental breakfast room on the 3rd floor.:cool1:

You can also see the firework from the balcony!pixiedust: I booked the HOJO for my next trip--hope I don't regret all those extra steps!

Tropicana has a very nice, very large hot tub. I like that property very much. The Hojo's hot tub is also nice, you can see the fireworks while you soak (but not sure if the hot tub is in the same spot now that the pool area is redone, maybe someone can verify that). The Camelot has a nice rooftop pool area with a hot tub and you have great views of the fireworks from that area.

But for a really nice hot tub, the Tropicana wins for me.

The closest thing to a moderate at DL is the Hojo. But even that is a stretch. The offsite motels on Harbor are older motels. My experience with the ones I have stayed at (BWPPI, Tropicana, Camelot and Hojo) is that they are very well maintained (they have all seen their share of updates through the years) and clean. The location cannot be beat or compared to anything at WDW with the exception of the Contemporary and its proximity to MK. At the Tropicana and BWPPI, I am going to guess that you are as close to the turnstiles of DL as you would be from the Pop Century Bus stop to MK's turnstiles. It is beyond nice at DL to have everything so close! But the Hojo is the only property on Harbor that has grounds, a themed pool area and interior hallways. And nice as it is, its not a moderate. The rates at all of these fall between value and moderates but its just hard to compare any offsite places to onsite WDW properties.

Thanks for all of the input. I should have specified. I'm not worried about the "resort" feel. I know I'm not really going to find that anywhere in Anaheim (+/- HOJOs). Nor do I really need that. We're just back from WDW and didn't wander the resort property at all. Room to bus stop, bus stop to room, perhaps a stop at the main building, but only because it was on the path from room to bus stop. Not even a trip to the hot tub this time because it was so faaaarrrrrr from the room :confused3

I just was trying to give folks an idea of the room quality itself I was picturing.

I just don't want to end up in a hotel room that looks like it's from a teen horror movie or a bad 70s movie (if you know what I mean ;) ).

I'll check out the Tropicana.

Thanks again.
