My fiance and I are deciding which resorts we'd like to stay in during our honeymoon. We would like to split the stay in half (staying for 8 days, 4 days in one resort, 4 days in another). I have had a lot of success doing this in the past. We would like to split it between one deluxe resort and one moderate resort.

We are going the week of 6/21/08. I pretty much have my heart set on Coronado Springs for the moderate but would love to hear reasoning/ suggestions for other moderates. We're hoping to keep a lower price tag on the deluxe resorts and have considered AKL, WL, and CR. Again, any suggestions would be wonderful, no matter what resort!

Also, when can I actually book for this time? I know it's a year in advance but I understand late June is a very busy time and I'm a big time planner!

Thanks in advance, all! :)

my parents stayed at CR on their disneymoon back in 1981 which was a good choice b/c they ended up getting really bad food posioning at the poly luau and were stuck in their room for a few days so it was helpful being stuck in a large garden room and not a smaller room at another hotel.

but as a family now (mom dad me and brother) we love WL. We like that it is all enclosed incase of a rainy day not in the parks. We enjoy the room sizes and even tho they are smaller than Poly or CR. I hear Artist Point is very romantic to eat at although we never have but WCC offers good food and fun entertainment. Roaring Forks offers a great variety of CS foods and desserts. The pools are very fun, the quiet pool is the villas pool and the main pool is the water slide and pool bar. We have also done the boat rentals and they are very fun as well. You could even do a Wishes cruise from either CR or WL!!

Good luck with your choice!!

We just disneymooned for 11 days at the AKL a few weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. :) We had a savannah view room, and the ambieance of the whole hotel was just so romantic. Some of our favorite things to do were to go swimming at midnight when nobody else was in the pool, and to sit out on the observation deck at night (I saw a shooting star there on our last night, *sigh*). :cloud9:

By the way, Jiko, the restaurant downstairs, is AWESOME. We had ADR's there for our first night and told them it was our honeymoon, and they gave us a happy honeymoon card that was signed in a whole bunch of different African languages by the staff there.

I miss it

Definitely a monoral resort - my choice would be GF or Poly with a view of the castle. If you can't swing the cost of a monorail resort, I would go with AKL.

If you dropped me at Poly, I would think I was in Hawaii. It is a lovely resort, very romantic. Understated luxury, Hawaiian style theming. Beach area is nice, pool area is beautiful. If you have a taste for Hawaii, this is the place. Not "in your face" or touristy at all. Plus, on the monorail system, so you can zip back form MK. Best Wishes.

i agree..its the closest that I ever got or will get to hawaii (for a few yrs at least!!) but we had a castle view (and paid $$$$$ for it) but it was soooo worth it!!! The only thing we didn't like was that the resort was rather spread out but we walked around it in May since we havent been there in several years and we all agreed we'd stay there again in a second if we could get a good room deal but if you have the $$ you might want to look into that as well....its hawaii @ disney, two for one deal!

My DH and I split our Honeymoon stay between WL and AKL last July. We LOVED both of them, and if I had the trip to do again, I wouldn't change the resorts at all. We started the week at WL on CL. We had booked one of the honeymoon suites, and were surprised with an upgrade to the VP Suite! We really enjoyed the CL lounge, sitting at the top of the hotel looking down into the lobby each morning, sitting on the balcony overlooking the lake, it was so romantic- wish I was there NOW!:goodvibes

We had a savannah view room at AKL and we loved watching the animals each morning and night from our balcony. This resort just has such a romantic feel to me. The rooms are a little darker, but not enough to bother me. This quickly became DH's favorite resort, we can't wait to go back!

Wherever you decide, have a wonderful DISNEYMOON!!:yay: :yay:

WE honeymooned in AKL in 2005 and it was fantastic. i couldn't have asked for more. we booked a standard view and were upgraded to savanah :goodvibes

we loved looking out over the savanah in the morning and at night. The peace and quiet was lovely after a busy day and as mentioned already swimming in the pool after dark when it was pretty empty was great :)

For a Moderate, I would look at POFQ, its a small, very romantic setting, with a French New Orleans Ambiance... You will love it.. CSR is really nice, but REALLY spread out.
