I do not want to pay the $65 at a salon for hair color. I just need an all over one color dye job to hide the grays that are starting to pop out after baby #3. I guess turning 34 will do it to you! Any suggestions for something I can buy at Wal-Mart/drugstore?
Thanks

I love Natural Instincts. It goes on easily, and the colors I have tried are all super natural looking. I have gotten lots of compliments on the color.

If you have hair past your shoulders, you'll have to buy 2 boxes to fully cover it. Mine is not quite shoulder length and I use about 80% of the kit when I color.

Good luck!

I like Perfect 10. It's nice color, and it has this nice applicator, it's like a comb on the end. It also comes with a tube of weekly conditioner, it's great, I wish I could buy it separately.

I wish I could have made it to 34 (or baby #3) to get grays popping out! I'm still in my 20's!!

I love Garnier Nutrisse. I have told many people about it and they love it too. Plus there are always 2.00 coupons for it in the ads, and CVS has it on sale about once a month.

I second Perfect 10 - the best part about it is that it takes 10 minutes - 15 for hard to color grays. I just don't have time for the other ones. I agree about the conditioner - I just love that stuff!

I like Excellence Cream by L'Oreal the best. It is creamier so it doesn't run and drip like the others.

But, I will use whatever I can get cheap at CVS or Walgreens. I have several boxes that I got free or less than $2. Keep an eye out for sales and then match with coupons for the best deal.

I've always used Nice and Easy Gray Solution. I have very stubborn grays (started at 16) and that is the only stuff that has ever covered them. Not even the expensive salon stuff works on my grays.

I also second Garnier Nutrisse. I always have my hair done at the salon but the prices are killing me. I tried it last week and absolutely love the look. the color is perfect. Very easy to do-- very easy to clean up -- I spilled a little and easy clean up. The solution is creamy so no dripping. It also smelled nice. I got it at target w/ a coupon and paid less than $5 for it.

I only henna my hair now--which I'm guessing is NOT what you're looking for --but I second (or third) the Garnier Nutrisse suggestion. I've used a lot of hair dyes in the past, and Garnier products have always been the kindest to my out-of-control mane. :goodvibes

Although I am currently growing my roots out and determined to "embrace the gray", I always had the best luck with Nice and Easy. It's very inexpensive and never faded out between colorings like so many others I tried.

I second the Nice n' Easy for gray coverage - I've had gray hair which began when I was 16 and the Nice n Easy is the only store stuff that covers the stubborn gray hair - I have to leave it on for 45 minutes though.

I usually buy at Wal-mart when it goes on sale.

Garnier Nutrisse for me too! I used to use Nice and Easy, but they stopped carrying my color at my local grocery store so I switched. I'm glad I did.... love the smell!

Perfect 10 here..
but I only started coloring my hair for about 6 months, I have stocked up perfect 10 when it went on sale in Walgreens. LOL

I like L'Oreal. I used to use Nice N Easy but it dried my hair out more than L'Oreal.

I have to color every 4-6 weeks. I am 80% gray. YUCK!

I like Excellence Cream by L'Oreal as well, it's alot easier for me to use when I'm doing the coloring myself and doesn't make as much of a mess.

I also love Garnier Nutrisse. It doesn't have the horrible chemical smell that some of the others do. I also like the variety of colors. I tend to change based on the season! I refuse to pay $70+ and an hour or more in the salon.

I've tried quite a few. I used to use Garnier Nutrisse, but when I decided to go a little darker they didn't have a shade I really liked. So I switched to Excellence by Loreal. I really like it, and I love the once a week conditioner that comes with it. I think both brands are really good.

I started graying at 13....I recommend L'oreal products: great conditioning products! I used to use "Preference by L'oreal" but I don't know if this is still available.
