Heading to Disney soon and I’m an ice cream fanatic!!! I’m not fond of soft serve, so I’m looking for everyone’s best HAND DIPPED ice cream…AND GO….!!!!!!
You’re not likely to find amazing ice cream at Disney World, except maybe at L’Artisan des Glaces in EPCOT. And don’t bother trying to sell me on Salt and Straw—it’s just not that good. Everywhere else is pretty average, especially Beaches and Cream, which is way overrated. None of the ice cream is terrible, but definitely nothing special.Heading to Disney soon and I’m an ice cream fanatic!!! Do you want to consider all brands of Hand scooped Ice Cream or are you really wanting specific brands or ice cream that is only made in small batches with custom Flavors?Heading to Disney soon and I’m an ice cream fanatic!!! All brands! As long as it’s hand scooped lol.Do you want to consider all brands of Hand scooped Ice Cream or are you really wanting specific brands or ice cream that is only made in small batches with custom Flavors?

The I would vote vote for the Fountain at the Dolphin resort, 1st floor right off the causeway from the boat dock on Crescent lake by Epcot. All brands! As long as it’s hand scooped lol.
Most of the Disney ice cream spots serve Edy's still. Beaches and Cream I find just too crowded - Boardwalk Ice Cream has scoops or sundaes and is much less crowded.
Agree on Artisan Des Glaces - they make their own and it's probably the best on property.
The Fountain at Dolphin is a solid choice for ice cream, as well as any diner type foods - good burgers, sandwiches, shakes, fries, etc. They don't use Edy's - not sure if they make their own or have a smaller brand supplier, but they're good quality ice creams.
The Gelateria in Italy Pavilion is good taste-wise and quality, but very expensive. The Disney Springs gelateria is a better deal and very good. Another left-hand option for Gelato is Wolfgang Puck's - the gelatos are good quality and have some very original flavors and combos.
Plaza Ice Cream (MK), Hollywood Scoops (DHS), are fine - again, just Edy's in scoops. Ghirardelli focuses on sundaes, but you can still order by the scoop - I'm pretty sure they also use Edy's.
If you like the Haagen Dazs brand better, there's a kiosk in West Side Disney Springs where you can get scoops or sundaes.
Salt and Straw has good quality homemade ice creams, but they don't often have 'standard' type flavors...so if you like your ice cream 'busy' with lots of flavors and stuff mixed in, they're very good. I was able to find some less whacko flavors as I don't love ice creams that are too busy and full of other things (they had a fancy vanilla, a caramel sea salt, a chocolate brownie, and a coffee tres leches), and the quality and flavor were very good...just have to check the menu and see what they're offering when you're there. And if you like the weird and busy stuff, plenty of those too.
