I am interested in getting groceries delivered to the Vistana Villages. What is a good place to order from and how does it work? I have had groceries delivered at home but never to a resort.

I used Garden Grocer on my last trip. They were great. I ordered online and then called to confirm. One thing I did not do, was set up a good time to deliver...check in was at 4pm and I told them to come between 2 and 4. Luckily, we go into the room early. GG also calls prior to delivering and pack everything away...

HTH!

Thanks Lauren. So I need to make sure that we are already checked in. I didn't know if there was a holding area at the resort. I guess that is a silly thought because where would they find the space to hold all of the orders.
Thanks,
Tara

We had a great experience with wegoshop. She asked if we had a store preference. (I didn't since I'm from out of town.) I told her to go wherever the prices and choices were best. I believe she picked Publix.

She called from the food store to verify a few items and so I could help pick out the wine and beer we wanted.

Delivery was punctual, friendly and correct. She used coupons as well and the service was really not much more than a normal grocery order.

Also, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, and they did hold the groceries - in both cold and dry storage - until we could check in. Guest services brought them to the room.

Why not just pop to the Publix - it's just across the road and has a fantastic selection.

Unfortunately, for me, it never seems that I "pop" into a grocery store with any success. The whole process...even at home where I am familiar with the store and the brands is never less than 3 hours, by the time I park, shop, check out, load groceries into car, drive home and unload groceries.

(I have even started regularly using my local grocery store shop at home method (by internet). It costs ten dollars, but I save way more than that on time and money spent on impulse buys.)

Our first WDW trip, I did go to Publix to stock our Fort Wilderness cabin, but for me, it was an every day drudgery infringing on my vacation.

Last trip, I ordered breakfast items, snacks and booze, and someone else did the shopping while I was still en route to POR on magical express. I sat by the pool and waited for delivery.

Now, to me, that's a vacation.

This time we are renting a pool home with 14 people. I don't mind sitting at my computer, planning meals and making a grocery list before I leave...but it is worth it to me, to place an order and pay $10 a family to avoid the grocery store during my first day in town and to have that HUGE order delivered while I sit by the pool.

We've used wegoshop for several trips and have been very happy. We've always set it up so that we met her for the delivery after we've checked in. Love the savings of having beer and wine delivered to us without the resort pricing. And thought it was great when she used coupons and split the savings with us.
We'll use them every trip.
