I need to book golf for my husband and father. Which course is the best? I don't need the most challenging course there, but not a Par 3, either. Can anyone help?? We'll be there in December. We are staying at Poly, Dad is staying in Downtown Disney -- if that makes a difference!

Thanks so much!

The Palm & Magnolia courses are played by the touring PGA pro's at one of their stops.Kinda fun to play on those. They're right across the way from the Poly.

Possibly an easier course to play would be Lake Buena Vista. It's near DTD & SSR.

Here's a golf page link if you don't have it.http://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/golf_vista.htm

Besides being on the PGA tour, they are fun to play since on some holes you can hear the Makig Kingdom sounds (especially the train whistle) and I think the Magnolia has a sand trap in the shape of Mickey Head. Courses are both moderately challenging unless you play right before/ after the PGA event (October), then they are a bit more difficult due to higher rough.

My DH LOVES the Magnolia! I think he enjoys golfing there more the rest of the whole trip:confused3

We played at the Palm last September and LOVED it. The staff was very friendly (the marshalls were great!) and the scenery was stunning. We saw river otters, alligators, osprey, raccoons, wild turkeys and a doe. AMAZING.

We'll play there again next summer, without a doubt!

DH said that the Magnolia was the best course he had ever played. He said, although "long" and definitely challenging, it was immaculate. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the Disney courses, though.

We are in the same boat. It will be my first time golfing at WDW this December and we are leaning towards playing at the Magnolia since it is near the WL where we are staying. I think that this is the course with a lot of sand traps as opposed to losing your golf balls in the water ponds. Disney will actually give you a taxi voucher to and from the course that you are playing, but I do not think that they will give one to your father[ if he is not staying at a Disney Resort./B]

"Best course" is always relative. I have played 3 out of the 5 course at WDW including the Palm, Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge. I have never thought the WDW course as great golf (this is true for practicalyl all Florida golf), but for resort courses they are very nice.

Osprey is probably the best overall course if you are looking for a challange and a more isollated play. This is supposed to be Disney's premier course.

The Palm / Magnollia are great because they are in the middle of everything, beautiful and reasonably challenging without being ridiculous. The Magnolia is the course with the Mickey sand trap.

Eagle Pines was also nice, but I prefer Osprey and Palm more.

Bottom line is it tough to go wrong. The courses are beautiful, the golf CMs are great and the courses will provide an enjoyable round regardless of where you play.

Osprey is the most beautiful in terms of nature, with Eagle Pines a close second. Lake Buena Vista is closest to Downtown Disney and has recently been refurbished. It's probably considered to be the least challenging of the 18 holers and also the least popular, although it's a very nice course.

The Disney courses aren't my favourite in the Orlando area. They're just too busy. If you book anything less than a four-ball, you'll almost always be paired up with another party (which I guess some people like, but I don't). I don't like to feel hurried, but on the Disney courses you always feel as though you're either having to step up the pace, or make the decision to let the party behind play through. I don't consider myself a slow player, but often feel that way at Disney.
