Best Gluten-Free "Hold-'em-over-till-the-next-meal" Snacks to Carry In?

Usually, we carry in a ton of healthy-ish food/snacks....sandwiches, water, dried fruit, carrot sticks, granola bars, oranges, bananas, etc.

This will be our 1st gluten-free foray into the parks....and it's a NINE day foray.

We have lots of gluten-free options in the parks for actual meals...BUT, we generally only do one full meal in the parks each day (my family gets "Disney Tummy" if we don't keep our Disney-food intake to a minimum...), and bring in the other one, or eat off-site. This is never a problem because with things like granola bars, it's possible to hold everybody over till the next meal.

Obviously, this trip will be different. I'll still bring fruit, veggies, nuts, and probably cheese sticks (we pack frozen water bottles in an insulated backpack, so bringing in items that need to stay refrigerated is NO problem...). But does anyone out there have suggestions for gluten-free, "heavier" type snacks?

THANK YOU!!!

frozen gogurt (we get the kind w/out HFCS)
GF crackers and cheese (babybell or string cheese)
GF pretzels
we bought popcorn several times

Do a search on amazon.com for gluten free snacks, there are lots.

Good luck! DD1 has been GF for 4 years now, and it's a lot easier than it used to be!

Whole Foods has a nice selection for Gluten free foods

And if you might like to bake here is a very nice blog for gluten free foods glutenfreegoddess

Also at Target on line and in store there is the Kind bars brand that is gluten free. And so is the Larabar.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful time at the land. :)

Baggies of trail mix you put together yourself with nuts, dried fruit, gluten free pretzels or crackers, m & m's, etc. Individual baggies work great when you are eating and standing in line or walking to your next destination. And you can put in just what your family actually likes!

My son also likes rice cakes with peanut butter in place of a sandwich.

Rise bars are a really great filling gluten free snack. You can get them at Whole Foods.

Great suggestion to search Amazon. Here are some of my finds (many in snack sizes):

Snyder's Of Hanover Gluten Free Pretzel Sticks 100 Calorie Pack (3x7.2 Oz)

Lucy's Cookies Grab and Go Combo Case, 1.25-Ounce bags (Pack of 16)

Annie's Homegrown Sunny Citrus Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, 4-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)

Michael Season's Baked Cheddar Cheese Curls, 0.75-Ounce Bags (Pack of 24)

I don't know about healthy, but rice crispy treats are the go to treat at my sisters gluten free house. Homemade of course.

I LOVE enjoy life gluten free chewy bars. They have very berry, apple cinnamon, sunbutter, and coco loco. All of them are so good. And I don't have to eat gluten free. I started eating them because they are peanut and egg free and I am allergic to both.

Enjoy life also has really good crunchy and soft cookies.

Glutino pretzels are really good.

You could do trail mix with chex cereal, gluten free chooclate chips, glutino pretzels, dried fruit, mixed nuts. That would definitely hold you over between meals.

If you have a Sprouts near you they have a very good selection of Gluten Free foods and are usually cheaper than Whole Foods. Even our Target has a pretty good selection of Gluten free foods/snacks.

My boyfriend isn't quite gluten intolerant, but he recently found out that he's gluten sensitive, so he's been trying to minimize his gluten intake as much as possible. A few of his favorite GF snacks that haven't been mentioned on here yet are Pirate's Booty (he can't get enough of it!) and Annie's Homegrown snickerdoodle bunny grahams.

We just discovered these bars at Costco that are yummy. Can't remember the exact name (because we're out of them at the moment), but I think it's something like Trio - three fruits, three nuts, three seeds. My son took them for snack every day at school. They had lunch at 10:30 (I know!), so he had to have a snack that was decently filling to get him through the rest of the day. He loved them and they are relatively reasonably priced. Replaces granola bars well.
