We may be taking a short trip to Gatlinburg in a couple weeks and would love to know what some of the best restaurants are!!!! Thanks for the help!!!

In Pigeon Forge we love the Apple Barn. Apple fritters, apple julip and great country cooking. Plus there is lots to see there. Candy store, ice cream shop, little shops and more.

Pancake Pantry is an absolute MUST DO! Best pancakes I have had in life EVER ( and I am serious pancake fanatic....) We also loved The Peddler Steakhouse, we had fantastic service and the steak was very yummy. :thumbsup2

We stayed in Pigeon Forge in June - Hope you have a great a trip as we did :yay:

I agree the Apple Barn is so yummy!!! Great country food (and a free order of Apple Fritters and Apple Julep drinks)

We had pancakes at The Red Rooster. Word of advice - the portions of pancakes are HUGE!! :scared1: My 2 yo got the silver dollar pancakes. There were like 4 per order. ONE took up a quarter of the plate. (I expected them to be, ya know, the size of a silver dollar!!! :rotfl2: ) And seriously the other 4 of us could have shared 2 plates. Oh well, we didn't know so in the end we left alot on our plates :rolleyes1

In Gatlinburg, we liked the Smokey Mountain Brewery. They had really good burgers/fries. My stepdaughter's Philly Cheesesteak was great, too. Also a plus, you can park for free there. It is in one of the shopping ctrs and if you buy anything there or eat at the resturant, you can show the attendant your receipt. :thumbsup2

Bubba Gump's was the only restaurant we ate at in Gatlinburg on our last trip this past March. We'd eaten in one at Daytona in Florida, and really enjoyed it, so wanted to go there and had a great dinner/drinks.

In Pigeon Forge we love Huck Finn's, Apple Barn, and The Old Mill best.

The Pancake Pantry is the best for bfast or lunch. There is often a long tine, but it moves quickly and wis well worth the wait. For a nice dinner, I love The Park Grill. Huck Finn's is laid back and fun- lots of fried stuff and a banjo player, too! Beware of the traffic, though and allow yourself enough time to get around. It pretty much crawls along.

Breakfast - Pancake Pantry
Dinner - Cherokee Grill or The Peddler. DH loves the Prospector (sp?) steak - they put worchestershire (sp?) in with the butter and put it on the steak - yummy!!!! I like The Peddler because they cut your steak to order at your table and they have a HUGE salad bar! Man I wish I were going - it's almost been 2 years. Guess I'll have to settle for Disney this year! :cloud9:

I second the The Apple Barn...never been there for dinner but we go there for breakfast

also Bullfish Grill in Pigeon Forge...mmmmm they had the best steaks!

:goodvibes

Pancake Pantry!!!!! I always get the swiss chocolate pancakes, but my husband swears by the pigs in a blanket (sausage links wrapped in pancakes). I have heard that Bubba Gump's is good and, of course, they have a Calhoun's there, too, but it is more common than the other places. We like to take burgers and grill out up at the Chimney Tops. That is my favorite place in Gatlinburg to eat! Have fun! We were there 2 weeks ago and had a ball!!!!

Park Grill, The Peddler, The Pancake House

These are my three favorites, along with Huck Finns in Pigeon Forge.

Also on our first night there it was fairly late and we were wanting something fast and inexpensive. It was close to where we were staying so we went to Texas Road House. It was soooo good. I figured in a tourist town it probably wouldn't be as good as our home restaurant but it was much better. This is the one in Gatlinburg.

We just got back from an 8 day vacation in Pigeon Forge. We tried some new places and visited some old favorites.

Apple Barn: We have gone here several times. It has never been as good as the first visit. I am sorry to say that we wont be back. The food just has gone down hill.

McAlisters Deli (next to Texas Roadhouse in P.F.): Sandwiches. After a week of big meals, sandwiches are a blessing. We ate here 4X! Nothing spectacular but it is a simple meal. Aaaaand, they have free wifi!

Alamo Steakhouse: if you have the money, please go here. The best meal that we have ever had in town. 2 adults and 2 kids cost around $60. The steaks and chicken are awesome and they have 1 pound baked potatoes!!! Yummy salads too. My sister got a HUGE hamburger. It looked great.

The Smoked Pig: about 5 miles down Wear Valley Rd. at a small farmers market. Smoked ribs and brisket. Also, fried pies and homemade peach ice cream. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. Each plate comes with 2 side dishes. I had home made potato salad and it was just right. I wish that we had eaten there earlier in the trip (so I could eat there again!).

The Old Mill restraunt: First time trying it. $60 for our family of four. I wasn't impressed. My pot roast was dry and tough. The bread was kind of stale. One good thing was free dessert! woo. Still, I doubt I would go back. Instead, I would go back to The Alamo.

Smokey Mountain Brewery: (red light 3 in P.F. but I believe there is one in Gatlinburg). I liked this place. We got a large pizza which I found tasty and reminded me of our local wood fired pizza. It was a little saucy for my husbands taste. If that's not your preference, get extra cheese. They have many home brewed beers. We also got cheesy garlic bread. Just as with the sandwich place, we were looking for something other than meat and potatoes at the end of the week and this place hit the spot.

Our friends tried the little bakery/cake shop a mile down Wear Valley Rd. and gave the cinnamon rolls a thumbs up.

I am glad for the pancake house posts. We would like to try a new one next trip. I will have to write down recomendations.

Some of my faves have already been posted- The Park, Apple Barn, and Smoky Mtn Brewery. In Pigeon Forge, we also enjoy Bennetts BBQ. I love their pulled pork sandwich and they have a really nice salad bar too.

I forgot about Bennett's BBQ and the Alamo Steakhouse, we loved those too!

Several good ones but I will agree with the Alamo Steakhouse for a good steak dinner.

We were there over the 4Th and ate at The Old Mill our 1rst night! We felt very rushed through our meal!:confused3 It was good, though not great! We also ate at the Pancake Pantry and thought it was great!

I haven't been there in a while, but we really like The Old Mill and their corn fritters and corn chowder. Yum!
