What is the best park for teenagers? Any certain attractions not to miss, or to avoid?

Probably Universal :). I’ve never been, but It has more roller coasters and Harry Potter.

That’s said tongue in cheek, because you might have kids who love all things Disney.

can you tell us about the kids?

My DD is 16. She loves DHS for Galaxys edge and Rockin Roller Coaster. She also enjoys Toy Story Mania and Star Tours.
She likes Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain at MK.
Epcot isn’t really a favorite but she does like test track and soarin.
Ak she loves Expedition Everest, especially at night.

She enjoys Universal a lot but doesn’t like when we do Universal only trips.

Honestly its very individual.
I suggest looking at the website and reading attraction descriptions and asking your kids which park they want to go to.
Personally at any age my favorite park as been Magic Kingdom.
My next favorite would probably be Hollywood Studios although EPCOT is right up there too.
I'm not a huge fan of Animal Kingdom.

If you can get Park Hopper tickets, I would combine parks. Animal Kingdom and EPCOT never seem to require a full day for me, and even less so without shows.

check Out descriptions of the New rides, too - Flight of Pandora, Mickey Minnie.

Sounds like you’ve got a Disney fan; I’m looking at going next week and will do two days. One Animal Kingdom + Magic Kingdom. The other Hollywood + EPCOT. Just doing my favorite rides and enjoying the Festival of Arts at EPCOT.

I’m here now with 2 teenagers who have been coming to WDW since they were 3. As teenagers they both love different things in all of the parks. They are different personalities (one loves thrill rides, one doesn’t) so we do a variety to appease everyone. :)

One of my teens loves Galaxy's Edge. The other loves Animal Kingdom.

If they love or even like Starwars it's a no brainer. Then you have Rockin, Tower and Slinky on top at HS. And then of course you guys get to check out Mickey's RR. If they don't like it or care so much about thrills, MK has more to do. Such as Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Seven Dwarfs, Space Mountain, and then the classic attractions like Pirates and The Haunted Mansion.

I think really if people are going to go to only one park Magic Kingdom is the best "Disney" experience you can have.

My 15 year old daughter loves Splash, BTMR, 7DMT & Space at MK. TOT, RnR, Star Tours & TSMM. It will be 3 years since we have been there when we go back in May so HS will have even more to offer. At Epcot Soarin and TT are they only 2 rides that she really likes but she loves World Showcase. Animal Kingdom has Everest, Kali River, Pandora, the safari and Dinosaur. All parks have things they will enjoy. However, if you are limited on days I would choose HS and MK.

My boys 14 and 10 have the following order:
1. Universal
2. DHS
3. AK
4. Epcot (mostly for the food)
5. MK (distant last place at their current ages)

That looks pretty spot on for boys at those ages.
We recently came back from Universal for the first time. I said to my wife, Universal is geared for teenagers to mid 30's. Every ride will either beat you to death, soak you or make you sick! LOL Don't get me wrong we had a good time and some of the rides were great but the intensity levels are all basically the same. Ha

I believe the "best park" depends on the personality of your teenagers. We have one that is ready for every thrill ride no matter how intense and another who loves the arts, performances, and rides of a tamer fashion. Mom and Dad also parallel these traits when looking at parks. So we compromise, sometimes split up, and try and hit each person's favorites. I also see younger teenagers (13 and 14) staying in more of a family group than I do teens of 15, 16, 17, who may take off alone and check in via cell every few hours. Each family also knows the maturity and responsibility of their teen. Any way you cut it, WDW is a great place for all.

Our teenaged DGSs enjoy all the parks, but in all honesty, they LOVE the water parks, particularly Typhoon Lagoon. They’ll dash from water slide to water slide, and spend hours in the wave pool. Both have been strong swimmers since an early age, and are proficient body surfers.

We were able to make one of their dreams come true a few years ago, and signed them up for the early morning surfing lesson one day. They were about 12 & 13 at the time and they took to the surfboards like they were born to ride! It was a wonderful experience for surfers and spectators alike. They hope to do it again, whenever we are able to make another trip. Of course, they also want to golf, ride every ride, eat their way around the world (in an Epcot festival) as well as see every show, shop every shop, visit every favourite restaurant, try lots of new ones... you get the idea.

Like their grandmother, they just want to go back. The only difference is that they have the necessary energy and stamina. We all have the enthusias.

I would see Hollywood Studios is best for teens.

RotR, MFSR, RRC, ToT, SDD, TTMM, ST all lend itself for great teen experiences. If you can get Oga's, it has great nonalcoholic drinks.

Mine (19, 16) just love all things Disney. They want to be sure to go to each park.

I agree that for most teens Hollywood Studios is going to be the park they are most into. It has two of the best thrill rides, Rock'n Roller Caoster and Tower of Terror, not to mention Slinky Dog Dash and Star Tours. They will likely also really like the Star Wars area. If they are big into Disney though, that may not be the case, and I certainly think they will still like the other parks. Magic Kingdom for example may be more kid-focused, but it has Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which all hit that thrill ride spot, though they're somewhat tame by "big coaster" standards. This is all assuming of course that teens prefer the most thrilling rides - they may not. To me, it was always about the theming. I guess what I'm saying is that you can prioritize to suit their tastes, but don't skip anything assuming that it won't appeal to the older kids.

We have been 6 times since the our boys were 4 and 5 years old. They are 18 and 19 now. They still enjoy all the older, non thrilling attractions like Carousel of Progress and Tomorrowland Transit Authority because it is classic Disney. They love all things Disney. We lucked out!! They like Universal too but Disney is in their hearts.
