I'm looking for people who normally fly out of Boston,Worcester or Manchester to impart some of their wisdom onto me!

My ex lives in Mass and has custody of my 2 boys and I am going to get them for some time this summer and we are planning on going to WDW--so here's my ??--I want to fly them to Ks by themselves (they are 11 and 15) then from Ks to WDW with the rest of us then from WDW to Mass by themselves

Mass to Ks
Ks to WDW
WDW to Mass

So what is the best way to go about this and the cheapest--Not being in Mass anymore I don't know who offers the best deals up there anymore and would like to do this for the best price possible.

Any Info you have would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I can't help with the MA to KS part of the trip, but for the MCO (WDW) to BOS for unaccompanied minors, I would choose JetBlue in a second. I've never been anything but THRILLED with their service, the FAs are wonderful, the snacks yummy, and the seatback TVs can't be beat.

I always fly out of Boston. I have no idea about flights to Kansas. I doubt you'll get a direct flight, though. My aunt just used my frequent flier miles to go to Ohio, and we couldn't get her a direct flight from Logan, Manchester or Providence.

As for WDW to Boston, I would definitely go with JetBlue. It's a direct flight, the crew is nice, and they have TVs and movies to keep kids occupied. It's a great airline.

Hope this helps. :wave2:

Check Midwest Airlines for the BOS-KCI portion. They offer the only non-stop service to KCI.

By the way, Midwest also offers non-stop from KCI to MCO.

It's their signature service too which means warm chocolate chip cookies :cool1:

Midwest Airlines (The Best Care in the Air)

As the previous post mentioned, Jet Blue is your best best for non-stop MCO to BOS.

JetBlue out of Boston or Southwest out of MHT. Manchester is a better, quieter airport for the kids.

I doubt you will find much from Worcester. Price wise I bet you will find cheaper out of Logan to Kansas.

Have you considered flying them straight to MCO and meeting them there?

Yep, nothing in Worcester. Your best bet will be Boston, Providence or Manchester. I would second the flying them directly to WDW from Mass, you meet them there, then fly back to Kansas with them, and then fly them solo back to Mass.
As to which Mass airport to use...a lot depends on where your ex lives. And how easy it is to get to that particular airport with the kids. A lot of variables.

I've been searching airline sites all day and everything was booku bucks--The ex lives in Rowley so Logan is closer but my ex MIL lives in Newton NH so there's that option for Manchester--I wanted them to come to KS earlier so I could spend some extra time with them before WDW===My oldest may or may not have summer school depending on how miserably he failed his freshman year so the dates have to be before SS starts but noone seems to know when they're going to be starting SS it may be either 7/6 which if it is means he won't be able to go OR 7/10 which would be perfect for getting him back in time

So far Air Tran is the cheapest so I guess I'll just keep watching them---Hopefully I can get some sort of straight answer tomorrow.

My husband is in the Army and the children and I live in MA. I can tell you, there are no good airfare discounts to the Midwest. About the closest you would come to a cheap airfare is Chicago. DH used to be at Ft. Sill, OK and a good airfare was just under $400 roundtrip...with layovers.

If you do want the children to fly to KS first, Midwest is a terrific airline. I had the pleasure of flying them once when my Delta flight was canceled, and I was very impressed.

If you're looking to save money, the best bet is to fly the kids direct to Orlando via JetBlue (love it) and maybe spend some extra time there with the cash you save on flights.

You could also try Cheaptickets.com. They used to have an option for My Dates are Flexible, and that would often have better fares if you were willing (theoretically) to leave on a Wednesday and depart on a Friday than if you were looking for specific dates. I think Travelocity offers a similar feature now.

Good luck!

We just got back from Ft Sill a few months ago--what was your Dh's job--MOS?

We prefer Manchester b/c it's a smaller airport, closer to home & cheaper parking. (We live in Haverhill close to your exmil) So we fly MHT whenever possible but sometimes Boston has the better fares.

Go Sox!

I have been flying to WDW from Mass for years. Have flown Song (soon to be defunct), JetBlue out of Logan in Boston. Have found Southwest out of Providence or Mancester, NH to be much cheaper but without the video screen. Allegiant Air now flies out of Worcester, MA and has excellent fares during certain dates. Have never flown them, though. Am traveling to WDW next week and by waiting for Southwest fares, I save a lot of money. :cool1:

He was there for OBC. He's now a FA Officer in 3ID. They're based at Ft. Hood but currently are deployed.

We flew out of Boston last spring to MCO on American for about $150 rt.

Allegiant Air services Worcester and Portsmouth, NH. They have direct
flights to Orlando but they fly into Sanford not MCO. You can get a oneway ticket for about $74 depending on when you are flying. They also only fly on certain days of the week.

I saw some cheap flights on Southwest from Providence to MCO recently. Does Southwest fly into an airport near you?

Would it be cheaper to have the kids do rt tickets to where you live and then travel to and from Orlando from your location together?

Just to reiterate the above - the BOS to Kansas portion of the trip is much more challenging. Having arranged travel to Ft. Riley recently, there isn't much that I could do. Midwest is the best option, since it is direct, but there are other carriers that go to Kansas City with connections ($$$).

I second the JetBlue MCO-BOS flight, I've done it before and it is well worth it.

Best of luck,
TGr
