Best Food at a Character Dinner Buffet?

We want to try a couple of the character dinner buffets but I want to make sure the adults in our group will enjoy them also. We don't have any characters that are 'must see' at dinner so that's wide open.

So which ones have the best food? Share your favorites and tell us why they are the best. :flower3:

Also, do you like early or late seatings at the buffets? Thanks!

We like Crystal Palace, the atmosphere is very nice/pretty and the food is decent.

We did not like Chef Mickey's for supper - if you talk to anyone in our group about our meal there for dinner the names "Golden Corral" and "Old Country Buffet" come up to describe the food. The character interaction is good and it's a neat place, but it's not somewhere you go just for the food.

We've also tried Liberty Tree Tavern. Food was good here, pretty much what you'd expect for Thanksgiving Dinner at a restaurant.

We thought Chef Mickey was much better for breakfast, but honestly for the price I'd try Crystal Palace for breakfast before coming back to Chef Mickey's

My DH says that Crystal Palace has the best buffet food (and my DH thinks he's a real food expert). The rest of the family has no particular favorite for food.

I haven't eaten at Chef Mickey's, but the dinner buffet at the Crystal Palace is delicious!! Great selection with a wide variety for everyone. And the desserts are fantastic! I'm hoping to get an ADR there for either breakfast or dinner at least once during our next trip.

Good luck with your decision!

We like LTT for dinner... We love the characters and the interaction...We like that it is not a buffet (we do a lot of those and like to have some one serve us for a change)...The food is good (not great)....The atmosphere is nice (not as loud as the others).

I would think 1900 Park Faire would be in the running, but I haven't been there yet. Garden grill and Akershus both have pretty good food too. Garden Grill is a very similar style to Liberty Tree, but I think the food at GG is a notch better than LTT.

Definitely 1900 Park Fare at the GF-ate three breakfasts there on our last trip and have one ADR for dinner there for our upcoming trip. Atmosphere is great, food is delicious and there is good character interaction, if you want it.:cool1:

We really enjoy CP for dinner . CM we prefer breakfast. We tried dinner once and didn't like it. The breakfast is really good though. Both have great character interaction. Nothing beats CRT if you have girls. We thought the food was good when we went for lunch last year.

I can only comment on Chef Mickey's for dinner...horrible, messy, slop. There was nothing I could eat. Go for the characters, maybe breakfast is better, but don't expect a decent meal for the major bucks you will undoubtedly pay.

we loved Garden Grill- we thought the food & character were both great!

The only one we have tried is Crystal Palace. We have eaten there twice and are booked again for August. We love the surroundings and the buffet has a good variety of high quality food.

The food at Crystal Palace was delicious! We went in without realizing that it was a buffet, and were so surprised to find such good food! I expected it to be average, since the Mousekateer cooks must make so much, especially for a buffet. At my school's cafeteria, cooking for more people means that the quality goes down. At Crystal Palace, this is not the case!

Favorite character dinner is LTT. Favorite Buffet character dinner is CM. Most hated character meal, CP. To see Pooh, we much prefer 1900 Park Fare for breakfast.

Always had great meal at Crystal Palace. Used to go to Chef Mickey's but food has gone way down hill the last 3 years. Lot of character interaction at CP.
