Best Fitness Tracker

I have the Jawbone UP24 that I got a couple of weeks ago. In reviews it is listed as one of the top two with Fitbit Flex being the other top two. However from what I read the app is a lot better for the up24. It tracks sleep, steps, workouts and food (also integrates with my fitness pal if you use that like I do). It also has an inactivity alarm that vibrates if you set it up and a few other features I haven't used yet. It is bluetooth or you can sync it by plugging it into your headphone jack. I love it and paid $129 at Sprint for it however Best Buy will have it Black Friday for 79.99 and from what I have heard you can get it online as well for the same price.

OP, thanks for starting this thread. Looks like Sam's has the Jawbone for $69 for BF.

and where is the best deal on Black Friday?

I have the non-Bluetooth UP band. I like it a lot, the only thing I miss is having challenges from FitBit friends, but then again there are days when I don't want to share how much of a slug I'm being, too.

The band only syncs when you plug it into the headphone jack. But... it's routinely cheaper. I've seen them as low as $49.99 in BJ's, Costco & Staples.

What's the best deal is not necessarily the best tracker. Love the stealthy Fitbit one and looking forward to the Surge model in the Spring.

The Garmin Vivofit synchs with My Fitness Pal. It's what I use, & I love it! Very accurate.

I have the VivoSmart and love it. I've had it for about 2 months now and it never comes off, except for charging, since it is waterproof (great for swimmers like me). The battery is rechargeable through USB drive. The Smart also bluetooth connects to your smart phone and will vibrate when you get a phone call (including the phone number) and a text (you can read the text but not respond). It also tracks sleep, steps, calories and food, through the Garmin app. You can also buy a chest strap and monitor your heart rate.

I'm going to buy one of these too-although I haven't found any deals. What size did you get? I was wondering how they ran in terms of size.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if anyone will have good deals yet since they are so new. My husband got me the bigger size and I have it loose on my wrist with only 2 holes left. I could have gone with the smaller one but it's fine.

I have the Fitbit Flex. I wear it to remind me that I don't have to choose the parking space which is closest to a store entrance. I don't have to choose the shortest path to someone else's desk at work.

But as for accuracy -- my niece pointed out to me that it doesn't measure steps, it measures arm movement because you wear it on your wrist. So if you sit there eating a lot of ice cream, it thinks you have taken a lot of steps. It would think this Smiley guy has been walking a lot: :woohoo:

I think I'll just get it at Best Buy and buy the 2 year service plan since I probably won't find a deal. I think I'll get the large too, since I have bigger wrists.

I don't think that's really true.....I've watched it when I'm walking and not moving my arm and it's counting steps. I don't sit often...only time I actually sit is once a week at my church group for an hour and a half...I know my arm moves a lot because I fidget a lot lol...but it doesn't track any steps during that time.

You may want to wait. Jawbone is coming out with the Up3 soon. Google it and you will find some very good reviews on the device.

Enjoy it! I was able to show it to my local running store owner today. They had just gotten them in and he was curious to see how it actually worked. A few customers were impressed, too and as I was in there, my husband called and it buzzed to let me know when I wouldn't have heard my phone. Love that feature.

We pulled up the app for the Fitbit Flex on my cell phone and looked at how many steps I had taken so far that day. My niece told me to stand still and move my arm up and down as though I were eating ice cream. Then we looked at the app again. It showed that I had taken steps. Tried it again to show a friend -- same result.

Oh well.... I guess that's why it's so important to wear on your non dominate hand. I know that when I sit on my butt it doesn't register much.
