I want to surprise my DH and DD with a bass fishing trip. We are all experienced fishermen. I wondered if any location is better than the others. We are early risers and will try to get a trip at the crack of dawn in the first two weeks of June. I need some advice from those of you who have experience with fishing at WDW. Which is the best location to start from?

My family took a fishing excursion out of downtown disney a few years back. We took an early morning trip, I believe it left the dock at 7am. We had a great time and caught some really impressive bass. They have bait stations so the guides know where to go and that there will definitely be fish there. I would assume they do this at all the lakes that offer fishing? My husband and I took our then five year old son and had a really great time! I'd highly recommend going.

I also surprised my husband and son, it was great! I told them we had to go to downtown disney for an early am character breakfast!

We took my dad fishing from the Wilderness Campground location. It was awesome! Besides catching the fish, there were beautiful early morning views of the Magic Kingdom, the Poly and the Grand Floridian. I definitely recommend picking the earliest appointment because it gets hot on the water.

While wait for a Friendship boat last June a bass fishing boat came to fish near the dock at DHS. One guy caught a very large bass. I would estimate around 10-11 pounds. It was impressive to see because the guide told him there is a large bass that hangs out under the dock and because the sun was out we could see the fish in the water. Sure enough as soon as the guy cast his line to the dock this monster fish came out and grabbed his line. It put up quite a fight. He landed it and got some pictures before releasing it back into the water. I don't know where you catch this excursion. I believe that where ever you go the guides will take you where you will catch fish.

Wonder how Disney trains them to do this or may be they are animatronic like the sea gulls. :)
