Best fireworks viewing areas behind the castle?

We have always viewed the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the hub and want to avoid the crowds and waiting time this trip. I would love some opinions of the best viewing spots from behind the castle. Is there anywhere that the projections and Tink can be seen? Some of the spots I have read in posts are behind the carousel and on the bridge to BoG. How early do we need to get a spot? TIA!

I can't speak for how it is with HEA, as we saw it from the hub...it was a new show so we wanted to see it all. I'd presume you really won't see any projections from behind the castle. From the perspective of seeing fireworks, we saw Wishes from behind the castle several times. Our favorite spot was behind the stroller parking for the carousel...heading toward BoG, in that general area. It was really cool from there, but did require a lot of head turning. When we saw it from back there (last summer...4th of July week), you could walk up last minute and get a great spot. Few people back there...most were walking from one ride to another.

The bridge for BOG is a great spot. My mom and I were just happening to wait in line before our dinner reservation and the fireworks came on. Never would have thought it would be a good location, but it was! Plus, we were sitting down on a bench so that was even a bigger plus.

Another great spot I love is on that wooden sidewalk/pathway/cut-through alongside the river that the Liberty Square Riverboat goes along (directly across from Tom Sawyer island). It goes from Liberty Square to Frontierland. I always thought that was such a beautiful viewing area especially with the fireworks reflecting off the water. Everytime I view the fireworks, the pathway is pretty vacant and it's quite easy to find a good spot.

Fanatasyland is a good spot to view them too. I've watched them near Gaston's Tavern and the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Great locations. Again, it has not been crowded at all to watch the fireworks in those spots either.

I've heard that the bridge to Tomorrowland has a view of the projections-- not a great view, but a view-- and isn't crowded. We tried to cross from Adventureland to the bridge to watch from there, but we were too late, and got "trapped" when they started letting people fill in the walking paths right before it starts. We ended up with an awesome view, but we were crammed! Next time I plan to try for the bridge, but I'll either walk behind the castle or plan to be in Tomorrowland already. I don't like being shoulder to shoulder with people.

I've heard seeing them by the Tangled bathrooms is a nice experience.

It's still possible to get a good spot at only 30 minutes before in the garden area by the hub in front of caseys. The new show is worth it. Having seen the new show, I wouldn't recommend seeing it for the first/only time from the back. It's just too good. If you must, then something back towards BOG is good. Or possibly over by sleepy Hollow and the Christmas store.

But this show is awesome. I would invest the time from dead on.

I am trying to visualize the wooden pathway idea-is it the path that they use as a trick or treat trail for MNSSHP? Are the fireworks all visible or obstructed by trees some? We haven't been for a few years so my visual Magic Kingdom is fuzzy

Are you able to face in one direction on BoG bridge or does it require some head turning like near the carousel? We have watched from the Tomorrowland Terrace and there were trees in the way back then but that was before the hub construction

I agree with the bold. This was the best place to watch Wishes. But you will see zero projections and you couldn't see Tink from back there. Just fireworks.
And you have to have your head on a swivel. Constant turning. But so worth it.

If you want to see Projections you have to be in front of the castle

We always watched Wishes from just in front on Mickey's Philharmagic and thought it was a great spot to avoid the crowds and it was easy to go to some rides afterwards.

Last week we watched from the fake grass in front of caseys and only arrived 30 minutes prior. At that time there were still some options of exactly where to sit. It filled in a little more before start but it was never shoulder to shoulder where we were.

The Casey's/Plaza can get really crowded at times, especially within a short 30 min. time period. That whole basic area can really get bombarded by crowds of people at times.

And yes, the wooden pathway is used as trick or trails during MNSSHP! The view obstruction can be hit or miss. You may have to follow the path just a little bit to find that perfect little "spot" that works well for you and your family

The BOG bridge does require head turning as some fireworks pop up at Cinderella's Castle and some pop up over the Beast's castle. But very little (if any) obstruction.

Tomorrowland Terrace now has a firework dessert party. So only people with that reservation have access to that viewing area.
