Best/favorite resort for water park stay?

We are staying for 2-3 nights and going to go to the water parks during the day and parks in the evenings. I don’t think we are going to do the dining plan for those days. We have thought about renting DVC points. Just wondering where the favorite place is to stay while doing water parks?

We are doing a split stay. First part we are at POR for 7 nights with dining. We are getting a 10 day Hopper+.
We then have a work convention for a few days across town. We decided to add 2-3 nights on the backend and have a little more fun, because no sense in going back to work and school on a Friday.

Just for proximities sake, I would probably pick a resort that interests you in the general area of the water parks - AoA, CBR, CSR, BWI, RIV, YC/BC, CBR, AKL (closest to BB). I, personally, wouldn't stay in the MK area as it will just add to your travel time.
