Best Family Cabana?

First cruise, I am hoping to get a cabana on the family beach. I searched the forums but I can't find anything concrete. I need advice on which cabana to shoot for. Are they all equally fantastic? I guess somewhere in the middle is good? I don't want to be too far from the action but not too close either. I want a nice beach area, so I guess the very last one would not be preferred.

If you had a cabana and you LOVED the location, please tell me why. My booking window (concierge) opens tonight.

We had cabana 10 and it was nice. Not too far from everything. Did you email concierge for them to book the cabana for you?

You should have already been in contact with shoreside concierge to get your cabana reserved. Doing it on your own, you will have to fight with the platinum cruisers for any cabanas that are left. My advice is to take whatever you can get, if anything. Once you get it, you can always decide if it fits your criteria and cancel if it doesn't.

We have been in contact with shoreside concierge. We did not specify a number, just a cabana. Now I'm wondering if we should have been specific. I think we will get on at midnight and try anyway.

I always tell shoreside concierge our top 3 choices and so far we have always gotten our first or second choice. We have stayed in 5 and 6 and loved the location of both. I have pictures of both on my blog (see link in signature).

OMG I just logged in (still 5 minutes before our window opens) and we have cabana #9!!! Sooo excited! Yay shoreside concierge! I was thinking I'd have to try to nab it right at midnight EST but it's already there! I still can't book any other activities but that was the biggie. Thanks for the tips everyone!

9 is just a few steps down passed 6 and all of the Cabanas are basically the same.

We have had 1, 6, 18 and all were great. We have 3 on our upcoming cruise around labor day and are waiting for the shoreside concierge to confirm our other one in a couple of days when it opens.

Now that we have had a few different ones, we prefer 3-9 as they are situated closer to cookies, the restrooms and have a great beach spot.

The higher cabanas that are situated on the little lagoon are nice as well but we found that water to be a little more coral filled and have more conchs and jellyfish if you want to get out and swim around. Just my opinion.

You'll LOVE #9!! And, by the way: there's a little corner inside the cabana with a suspended curtain that can be closed... Great little spot to change clothes!
