Best exit plan for Magic Kingdom?

For a couple of adults it would be doable, you just shove in to whatever car. Pick the one where people don't have a stroller. I used to fold my stroller on the monorail, but since no one else does I don't bother anymore.
But that's only if the monorail CM's even let you through the gate at the Contemporary. The monorails leaving MK during a park dump are jam-packed like a train in India (minus people sitting on the roof). I've been on crowded monorails that arrive at the Contemporary and only a handful of people get off. Despite there being a line of 30 or 40 guests at the Contemporary waiting to board the monorail, the cast members may only let a party or two through to try to squeeze onto the train.

We will be doing the same this coming August and we are staying at the Poly. What about the new Disney Uber Minnie vans? I wonder if they will be there and how much of a mess it will be getting out using it?

I doubt the Minnie Vans will be a good option. They are $20 no matter where you are going and I don't think they will be allowed any closer than cars (TTC). I think it may also only be from the resorts for now at least.

in all honesty swimming would be the fastest but I am sure its frowned upon LOL and the whole gator thing. I can attest the Ferry Line is insane. I was there last week and was staying on points at OKW and had a car cause I had scooters for my parents. We got off 7DMT at 9:40 no lie I got back to OKW at 11 taking the ferry and driving back, I put parents DW and DD on a bus they were back at 10:20....now as for the resort Monorail there was no line compared to what I was in. So I would go with Resort Monorail

I did read they will be using #11 bus stop I think for MK.

One thing to factor in is where at the Poly you're staying. If you're all the way over in Fiji, then I'd avoid going the TTC route, since you'll have to walk the full length of the resort. On the flip side, if you're at Pago Pago, then the TTC ferry is going to give you a marginally shorter walk than the Poly boat. And of course if you're at Tonga or Rarotonga, then the monorail gets you closest to your room.

Best exit plan for Magic Kingdom?

I dunno, let's ask Michael Eisner! :duck:

Since its all adults, if you're not in a hurry to get back you could always walk to the contemporary from MK, grab a drink, then take the monorail from there back to the poly. Walking to the contemporary and then getting on the monorail right away may work as well, but if it were me I'd enjoy a drink first. They also tend to keep the shops on main street open a little after the official close time, so you could meander around and browse a little until the crowds thin out.

Um...AMAZING!!! I can't believe I didn't think of that! I can certainly hang and have a couple cocktails waiting for crowds to die down. :D

I could be wrong here but I 'think' the only place to get a drink at CR that is open past 10pm is The Wave Lounge, just FYI. :-)

As you are leaving MK on the way to the monorail look at the resort boat launch. If there are fewer than 30 people in line you will be on the next boat to the resorts stopping at Grand Floridian first, Poly is the second stop. Less than 60 and you will be on the 2nd boat.

I would take the boats anytime I could at close over the monorail craziness.

Thanks for asking this question - I was wondering the same thing and we'll be at the Poly at the end of October, too. :)

I'm also trying to make a plan. We will be leaving at closing 2 times when are there. I hate to have to leave early to avoid the crowds.

Get in line for your last attraction right before close. Go shopping after that. Stay for the kiss goodnight after that. Get photopass pictures on the way out after that. No waiting for transportation at that point.

We are staying at Polynesian.

What's the best way to get home after MK close? Resort Monorail, boat to Poly, ferry to TTC and walk to poly?

Anything else, besides patience? :)

Get a drink and a snack and hang out and enjoy the MK at night for a good 45 minutes to an hour. Let the craziness die down and then use either the ferry or the monorail and avoid most of the craziness.
