Advice please -

We'd like to take our 4 yo DS to a dinner/evening show. Any suggestions as to what would be good for a boy his age?

I would think that a little boy would love the Hoopdedoo! the food is fairly basic for picky little kids...it is noisy and musical and loud and fun...the waiters pay a lot of attention to each table...a lot of interaction...as far as a dinner show goes, this seems to be the best of the best...

I've gone with DD4 to Spirit of Aloha, Dixie Stampede, and Arabian Nights. She (and I) didn't really care for SoA. We both liked the other 2. She really loved Arabian Nights. She runs around the house singing the songs and acting it out. The horses at both shows are great. You can get discount tickets at ticketmania.com and then off-site shows work out to be a much better deal than Disney ones.

another vote for hoo dee doo. we just took our 4 year old and she loved it. it is noisy and contstant action, so you don;t have to worry about the little one keeping quiet. my daughter kept throwing her head back laughing!! it was a riot watching her!!

Wow, I was choosing NOT to do HDDR b/c I thought it would be over dd4's head. Hmmm, maybe I need to re-think. I just did not want to pay the exhorbitant price since dd4 will not eat that much (especially after paying for PSB & CRT). But now it sounds like 4yo will enjoy it. I think you may have sold me!!!

Oh yeah, this is not really an evening show, but we are doing an evening at FW (I think this is just for resort guests if you are staying on site). They have hayrides, a sing-a-long campfire with Chip & Dale (and you can buy stuff to make s'mores) and a Disney movie shown outside. I'm sure your 4yo would like this too. You can also watch ELP from FW too!

We did the Hoop De Doo when my little princess was 2 and then Mickey's Backyard BBQ when she was 4. She liked the HDD but LOVED the MBYBBQ.
The HDD is fun, but it is cowboy, cowgirl type of slapstick comedy with some interaction with the crowd.
The MBYBBQ has tons of crowd interaction. Kids (and some of us adults) get to get up and dance with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc. These characters spend a lot of time dancing with the kids.
My 1 year old little princess even had fun out dancing around. She would have been major crancky sitting in the chair at the HDD all that time.
In my opinion, the Backyard BBQ was a lot more fun for the little ones.
