For our arrival night, DH and I have an ADR for Chefs de France in Epcot. Since I was a kid, Epcot has always been my favorite park, but I've never had the opportunity to eat at any of the nicer restaurants (we were a burger and chicken strips kind of family). I've been hearing a LOT of terrible things about Chefs, and don't want to "waste" a meal on a terrible restaurant. :confused3 Any suggestions on what restaurant would be the best? Thanks so much!

Is LeCellier,we've had many great meals and always great service.Yes a once or twice we've had some food we returned.Server was always nice and food replaced with a smile. :goodvibes :earsboy: :wizard: :earsgirl:

I thought Chefs was very good (I thought Kona Cafe was better, but Disney's not about to move an entire restaurant from a Resort into a theme park just for me - I'm not John O'Hurley :teeth: )
What time is your ADR? If it's later in the evening, ask to be seated in or as close to the window facing World Showcase as possible. They don't pipe in the music, but they do turn down the lights and you get a great view of much of IllumiNations!

Our ADR is at 6:30...while I'm at it asking questions, I just found out that the Fantasmic Dinner Package is now part of the Dining Plan. With only one showing of Fantasmic each night, I'm a little worried I won't get to see it. My parents went in June, and said it was the most fantastic (guess that's why they call it Fantasmic, huh?) show they'd ever seen. Then again, we're going to be there 8 nights...I'm bound to get in one time, right? We've made ADRs at all the places we *think* we're dying to eat, including the 50s Prime Time Cafe. I could change that one to one of the FDP places....decisions decisions!

Chefs de France is 16 yr. old DD's favorite restaurant in WDW. She loves the escargot and the lamb. The rest of us like the restaurant too, although it wouldn't be a must do each trip if it wasn't for DD.

The tables are a little too close together. However, each time we've been, the food and service have been very good.

Another vote for Chefs de France. Despite our penchant for more healthy food these days, Chefs is still the winner.

I don't think you can wrong with Le Cellier or Marrakesh, but we also eat at Rose and Crown and very much enoy the food and atmosphere.

Le Cellier or Teppenyaki

We had an absolutely lackluster meal at Chefs. I was trained in Classical French cuisine - Trust me, that is NOT what they serve at Chefs. I would never eat there again, even if it were free.

I think Marrakesh is the best restaurant in WDW, period.

I'm so glad you posted this! We are trying Marrakesh in two weeks- good to get a great review!

Chef's is very good and you won't be disappointed. The tables are close together and this can be annoying. Ask for a window seat. The view of Illuminations is good. If you want a better dining experience then go upstairs to Bistro de Paris. This is much nicer and the best restaurant in Epcot.
Le Cellier gets lots of press on these boards and it is very good. The staff there is excellent and friendly and I go there on all my trips. That being said, it's not unique. The menu is steak and salmon, both very good, but not special. It is one of the best steak houses on grounds. I think that Yachtsman is as good or better.

We've never had a bad meal at Chefs. We just tried Bistro de Paris (above Chefs) in July and it was great - food, service and atmosphere. I think it's the best restaurant in Epcot, and we've eaten at most table service restaurants in Epcot. We also like Le Cellier.

We've eaten in every single World Showcase restaurant - multiple times. Epcot is our favorite park and we spend lots of time there. To us, eating in World Showcase is half the fun of going to Disney World!

San Angel Inn is our favorite. We think the food (and the margaritas!) are great and the atmosphere is just totally unique - very Disney. I've taken quite a few different people to Disney World with me over the years, and they've always loved this place. I took my sister in 1998 and she still talks about "that cool Mexican restaurant with the river and the volcano".

Marrakesh, LeCellier, and Teppanyaki are also high on our list.

Chefs de France is okay, but it doesn't make our favorites list.

We're trying Marrakesh and Le Cellier during our visit. Enjoyed Le Cellier at lunch. Liked San Angel & Rose & Crown, would like to go back to Rose & Crown. I live in an area that has several amazing authentic Mexican restaurants and I guess you get spoiled.

Last trip, I was disappointed in the Biergarten (used to be a favorite), and I tried Chefs once and was dissappointed, though I thought it was because I don't like sauces, especially cream sauces. We did LOVE dessert at Chefs, had the most amazing chocolate creations.

Thanks for all the great replies! We too live in an area with lots of great Mexican restaurants (NOT the chips and salsa kind!), and while I love the atmosphere and San Angel, DH would kill me if I made him eat any more Mexican food. Even with the bad press, I'm still leaning towards Chefs. Called today about Le Cellier, and there wasn't anything on a night we could swing. :confused3

Guess I missed seeing all those bad reviews! While Chefs de France may not be "classical French cuisine".....I loved their onion soup and creme brulee. And their filet was wonderful. :)
