I wish I would have bought something special from the world in Epcot last trip. I mean something really nice, like a framed print, a clock, something for our house. What have you purchased that you love? I'm wondering if I should buy the German clock this trip?

I'm into collecting interesting musical instruments during vacations....so I always pick up something like that.

I love me CD by OFF KILTER in Canada.

We bought some nice stuff in Epcot :thumbsup2

Togepi from Japan (I like pokemon and it's one of them)
Two high quality Steif Stuffed Animals from Germany (very nice)

And of course the Christmas pickle from Germany! We hang it every year :santa:

We don't follow the "first child to find it gets an extra present" though, because I'm an only child :upsidedow

Our best purchase was that big golfball thingie. This guy was standing near the International Gateway, offering a really good deal on it. He says we'll be able to start charging for access to it this year!

My pearl from Japan!! LOVE IT!!! Almost didn't do it because of the money but my kids kept telling me to do it so I did! I picked a really nice 8mm pearl & had it mounted on a very cute clasp that I wear on my chain. I've had lots of compliments on it too. I'm in the planning stage to go back to DW in August & I may just splurge on a ring to go with it!!

Last April at the Flower/Garden thing at Epcot we purchased 4 pictures from one of the artists with a stand there...one painting of each park with a Xmas tree....I matted and framed them all and put them up for the holidays...the best souvenier I ever bought

I bought one of those too!!!!!... however, its broken now, the Epcot hand thingy fell off.... so I brought it back.... guess what... no refunds... oh well, live and learn.

Great thread! My goal this year is to buy something in each of the pavillions. I'm currently thinking Christmas ornaments would be a good choice.

We don't buy a lot of souvenirs, but DH and I have started buying Food and Wine Festival T-shirts every year--then we think we are so ultra-cool wearing them to subsequent festivals. ;)

I really want one of the framed pin sets that spells out "Epcot" in pins, but I've only seen it with a dark blue background, and we don't have any dark blue in our house.

We love our saki cups from Japan. We son't really do souviners so this was like $6 full of drink.

It makes me smile every time I drink tea/soda/water from it.:goodvibes

Every year I like to buy a new piece for my nativity set in Italy. They have Fontani pieces that are only available there.

We have the German pickle and the red bird as well. I used to collect the Venetian masks but that got a little too expensive and I ran out of room.

Well, hey, if you've bought that golfball thingie, I happen to own a lady-holding-a-torch thingie and a couple of big bridges. Would you be interested in buying one or more of the above? :)

Now, to keep this on topic . . . I always try to look for something that I know is particular to EPCOT. So many times you can buy the same things anywhere. I have purchased some of the blown-glass pieces in Mexico because I know that they make them. Always trying to find something unique.

We're also doing the pearl thing in Japan this trip. I still remember when my mother did it when I was a child and now I'm doing it with my daughter. We can't wait to pick our oysters and chose some settings for a fun and meaningful souvenior.

We did the pick a pearl last year. My son bought the setting with his own money. It is my most cherished Disney souvenier. Haven't bought the pickle in Germany but plan to buy that next trip.

We have bought sweets in every country to bring back as a gift for our cat sitter and her family. Couldn't find anything in Morocco though. I like the idea of getting a Christmas ornament in each country. May have to add that to my planning notes for next trip!

I wish there were Disney-related souvenirs from each country or the from the World Showcase in general. On of our most cherished souvenirs is a mug from the 2006 Food and Wine Festival that has a silhouette of all the World Showcase pavilions printed on it. I would love to see more of this kind of souvenir, instead of the generic Disney items that you can find anywhere in any of the Walt Disney World parks.

If I purchase anything in the countries, it is usually something that is hard to get elsewhere.

We typically just purchases food or beer, after all, what better way to experience the culture of another country, most of our souvies are Disney related.

I love my 2 dogtag necklaces from Japan - they engrave your name in Japanese plus a Chinese character too! They are super-cool!

And I love this cute lil doll I got this time in Mexico - I think its called a "Chickita" doll - the brochure inside said that these dolls are made by mentally challenged adults in a group setting in Mexico for their therapy and all proceeds go to these people. I love the doll, she has so much personality!

I love shopping in Epcot, you can always find super-cool things there! :woohoo:

We like to bring home Steif from Germany too. There are items exculsive to WDW.

If I had a daughter (or a doll collector) in the house, I'd consider the dolls that the doll maker makes while you wait.
