Best dvc resort for wedding anniv.?

Hi Danielle
I just noticed your post. I have been searching the boards trying to get info on the other Villas besides WL. My family and I stay at the WL every year. We have a large family...ages 14 through 3(twins). We usually go in a grand gathering with another family...same age children. Everyone has a buddy to hang out with.

I feel VERY comfortable giving the older ones some freedom at the WL and at the same time feel comfortable watching the younger ones by the pool area.

We are curious to try the Boadwalk or BCV...but I am nervous about watching the twins and 6 year old at their pools. Also from my knowledge it doesn't seem like the resorts Main Lobby is set up like the WL, and I would be nervous to let the older ones go by them selves to get snacks...game rooms etc.

Please some info about the Boadwalk and BCV.

It seems that the AKL is set up like the WL...Maybe I should look into that.

Thanks

I am from Long Island too!princess:

Let me see what I can clear up for you: The lobby is not at all like the WL. It is smaller. The main entry has a few sitting areas and check-in. Off to the right is the hotel portion and bar (closer to Epcot). Off to the left is the entry into the villas (so you are closer to MGM). There is a very small shop off to the left was well. It has some shirts, gifts, small snack food, and a few other items.

All the action and food is outside. To get to the game room you must go outside by the pool area. There is a place to get bagels and danish inside during the morning hours. It is the bar area located on the hotel rooms side of the lobby (pretty far from the villas side). Most food is found on the actual Boardwalk. The is a bakery for morning, lunch time, and desserts. There is a pizza counter (does not take dining plan), a take-out place with things like chicken fingers, fries, fried cheese, nachos on the Boardwalk but it opens later in the afternoon (weather permitting). There is a very large gift shop with the snacks, milk, water, juice, food to cook (like in the WL) but you have to go outside to get to that also. Not really sure if you would feel comfortable sending your kids for things because the resort is set up around the Boardwalk.

The pool is very nice, even for small children. My little ones enjoyed the kiddie pool area. It has a small playground there. The slide is not meant for little ones. My son was just turning 4 when we stayed there. He only went down once because it flipped him all around and we could not go down with him. We did not love this pool when comparing to the Beach Club and VWL. It may be a problem for your kids as well.

Are there any other questions?

we'll be celebrating our 25th anniversary  at the BWVs in may ~ booked 11 months in advance to get our BW view (love watching Illuminations from our room :cloud9: ).
there is so much to do at the BW: eateries, nightlife & just a stroll over to EPCOT (passing thru the gazebo, of course ;) ).
BW tends to have less kids than BC, & a great quiet pool.
have fun! :thumbsup2
