My family is in the middle of planning our upcoming vacation for May 2016. Although my husband and I have been to WDW before, this will be the first time taking our children (DS 3; DD 5). We'll be staying in a studio this trip, going for 8 days, and will probably be at the MK park the most.

We're looking for recommendations on the best DVC resort for toddlers, while also taking into account the ability to book at 7 months for early May. Our preference is a monorail resort, but I think it will be difficult to get into Poly or VGF. I've heard that BLT studios are somewhat small for families of 4 and that VWL may be under construction.

What DVC resort would you pick?

you family of four is small - so would go with BLT - yes it will be crowded but you know that going in - otherwise would go with Polyn (PVB).

that said being able to walk to the MK (and Back) when the lines going back to resorts are over an hour - it is worth it.

I agree with the walking benefit but the 2 bathrooms and the small pull down bed at the poly would out weigh the walking to MK benefit for my family.

Monorail resorts. Magic Kingdom is probably were you will spend most of your time. And late naps mean late nights when the fun comes out. We own at BLT but have stayed at VGF as well. Depending on your need (kitchen etc) your choice should be either Poly or BLT. My boys love the VGF pool which is available to you. So if the pool is important go Poly. If kitchen is critical I say BLT.

If you will be at MK the most try to get BLT,VGF or Poly-

BLT you can walk to MK but the pool is not very good compared to the other two IMO and I like the theming and food better at Poly and VGF as well

BWV and BCV you can walk to epcot in about 30 seconds and walk to Hollywood studios in 15/20 minutes

AKV has direct buses everywhere. Is very quiet and kids love the Animals. The pool at Kidani is as good as any at WdW imo.

We have been 7 times with our 2 year old. Stayed at BLT once, BWV once and 5 times at AKV. Never had any problems and we like AKV the best just for the overall resort feel. We also love animal kingdom park and go many times on our trips.

One big benefit to us is our 2 year old loves to nap in the stroller so we can park hop without much of a problem by walking or monorails
