We are currently booked at VWL for Spring Break the week after Easter, but I am still not 100% certain that is the place we should stay. I can't put my finger on it, but part of my concern is that our last 2 DVC visits were to Kidani and BCV and they had such fabulous pools! We stayed at WL in 2008 (not in the Villas), so I am familiar with the pool area. I am a bit concerned it may be a bit boring for my girls, who will be almost 12 & 15 when we visit.

I can try for something else at the 7 month mark this week. Any input? Keep our reservation at VWL or try for someplace else...? Thanks!

I understand what you mean! I love VWL but I think your girls may be happier at BCV or BLT. My kids love both for the easy access to other areas.
Have fun and good luck.

My 16, 14 and 12 year old DD's have decided that this past visit to Boardwalk was their favorite pool, activities available and proximity to parks.

teens espcially love the nighttime performers, pools, community hall, walk to 2 parks, and the myriad of activities at the BWVs.
it is a great place to allow them a little extra freedom, if you allow it, of course;). with cell phones, they can go together to the bakery for b'fast, the sweet shop for a cone, watch illuminations from the bridge, play ping-pong at CH, walk along the BW.:cloud9:.....

I know our family may be somewhat "against the grain" but our teens have always loved SSR the most. They love being so close to DTD and the freedom they had to walk over themselves. They were never much into the theme pools and that may be why they preferred SSR.

We are travelling with four teens in October. I have 5 days at SSR and 2 days at BWV. I have an outstanding waitlist trying to add two more days to BWV. Just yesterday we all sat down and went over their plans. They all voiced strongly that they want me to cancel the waitlist so that they can stay at SSR for the longer stretch.

I guess that is why the variety of DVC is such a good thing!

Our teen/20's prefer BCV for pool and location. Their 2nd choice is Jambo concierge (unlimited drinks and food is always attractive to the boys!)

I second this. We own at BCV and it was a great place to allow the freedom to access the BW, Epcot and DHS. The first time we allowed this was last summer when they were 12 and 15. With cell phones, it worked out fine....If you can't switch at 7, rest assured they will have a great time!

Though I would say BWV or BCV would be the preferred venue for teens, you should not assume either will be available. Not sure what you mean by "week after Easter." By stating you might call this week, it sounds like you are referring to Easter week that starts April 8, in which case you better call exactly 7 months out at 9 a.m. Eastern and hope luck is on your side because that time is often booked fully during 11 month window. If you are talking about week that begins April 15, you may have a better chance.

I can definitely see why BWV and BCV would be a great choice, but like a previous poster indicated, consider SSR. My younger sister and her friend were with us during one of our trips and they loved being able to go over to DD. They had a blast at DD and made a point of telling us that SSR was one of their favorite resorts because of DD.

My dd13 and her friend picked the Boardwalk Villas. They are looking forward to the rec center along with the nighttime entertainment, the ice cream shop and the carnival games. They also like the bike rentals there.

Thanks everyone for your input - at this point my head is spinning. I think we are going to try for BWV or BCV in 2013. I think this visit we are going with either BLT or VWL... maybe try a split stay? Will see where my heart is at 9am tomorrow morning! I am open to any last minute thoughts...

I love BLT and can see it might be fun for a teen, but dangerous for moms wallet! LOL. We loved BWV for all the reasons stated, BUT, if they r happy at SSS I'd stay there. the changes of you getting a room at BWV or BCV is slim to none as not only are you in compitition with spring break here, but half of europe and Argentina as well. althrough, as long as you have one booked, it won't hurt to wait list the other just in case and split it up???

How did you make out this morning? I am curious what you got other than SSR, OKW for a 2 bedroom week after Easter.
Thanks so much and hope you got what you wanted.

Didn't call after all. I decided to leave our reservation at VWL... just need to tack on an extra day at the end of our trip with our AKL points, which I can do in a few days (I HOPE!!!). I would have loved to try for BLT but it was about 40-50 points more. So I decided to save the points for our next trip!

I think the girls will still enjoy the VWL and with EMH at different parks almost everynight they can always find somewhere to go if they're looking for fun. They can also take a boat over to CR and BLT if they are looking for a change of scenery.

Have to say it's BWV for us. We just spent the last spring break there with my DS(15) and his friend. They loved it. In fact, that's the only place my son wants to stay. He really likes being so close to EPCOT and DHS. Those two parks were big hits with both boys.
