Best DVC Resort For Small Children (Ages 1-3)

I would definitley want to be on the monorail next time. We stayed at SSR, which wasn't too bad, but long bus ride from MK, and if bus was full, we were standing. BWV/BCV was nice because it was so centrally located but it wasn't too fun dragging the kids on a bus to MK to catch the monorail to other resorts for ADR's. Our home resort is BLT and we will definitley be staying there next trip. AKV was nice (my mom stayed here during our trip last week) but also a pretty far bus ride from MK with two little ones.

We have a 22 month old and a 4 yo. My 4 yo loves BLT and we love the access and the availability to walk. The boys were both mesmerized with the monorail being right outside our window last christmas. BC and BW are also great walking resorts - 2 parks within walking distance. We just stayed at AK - Kidani in June and fell in love - we were worried about the distance by bus and it is never fun on a bus with 2 little ones and 2 strollers (even though our strollers have been purchased specifically for our Disney trips - small, compact, lightweight, full size stroller functions, etc.) It never seemed far at ALL!! And the boys were absolutely amazed by the animals (we do get to the zoo frequently), but they loved it - especially our little guy!!! He could have stood and watched them all day :) OKW and SSR are our least favorite because of the bus situation, but we are staying at OKW next week for a little variety! What I have realized is the boys love where ever we stay as long as it is at Disney World!!:thumbsup2

I have taken my kids to Disney 2x a year since my DS was 2.5. Our favorites are BC and SSR.

BC - walking to Epcot is the biggest draw. SAB is awesome but a bit tricky for my 6yo as you can't see them from the sand pool when they go down the slide or in other areas of the pool. The pool is too spread out to watch 3 kids at once! The QSR isn't great either.

SSR - Great QSR, great main pool. I can watch all 3 at once in the pool. Buses to every park is a drawback but my kids actually love the bus for some reason - it's like a ride! SSR also has a great pool near the Grandstand with a splash park that my older kids LOVE. I like being able to take a day off parks and go to DTD too - kids like the shops and I like the margarita stand!

We are not park commandos - hang by the pool most mornings then to a park for 3-4 hours in the late afternoon. So, buses aren't really a problem for us.

Have a great time! I will be there with my party first week in October - 11 adults and 16 kids under age 6!! SSR for us this time!

I wish we weren't as much park goers sometimes. We just moved into a new home officially as of this last Saturday and head to Disney Wednesday. I mentioned to our 4 year old - "Maybe we will just swim most of one day and head to the park for fireworks (his favorite)" His response - "but we have to ride lots of rides too!" with a worried look on his face. It's not like we don't get to Disney frequently - 3-4 9 day trips a year - how did you get your kids on that program?????

We have 3 kids, DD7, DD5, DS4mo. We own at VWL and BLT. We love the Lodge! A big draw is the close proximity to MK. The boats are great. This past trip, I went and got cinnabuns from MK Bakery (they are the best) for breakfast. The whole trip took me about 40m!! They have movies a lot of nights on the beach, the Electrical Water Pageant is a classic, and plenty of other things to do if you want to. Now, BLT is also great, but the studios are smaller. The pool at BLT is much nicer than the pool at the Lodge. The pool is the Lodge's biggest drawback. Not as elaborate as the other resorts. Now being able to walk to the MK from BLT is awesome!! 5 minute walk after the fireworks is a godsend when everyone's tired! We've also stayed at Kidani and loved it! The pool is awesome there. However, we love our Magic Kingdom resorts!! There is something about being close to Cinderella's Castle.....
