Trying to plan a 4 day DVC resort stay before a 3 day DCL cruise. It would be in January,no parks visit, will have no car, will use DDP, and have 3 adults. Any suggestions on which DVC resort would best accomodate this?

We just did a 3 nt land before a 7 nt sea, with no parks. We stayed at SSR, and it was great to be so close to DTD - Plenty to do without worrying about the hassles of the parks. And if you want to go to another resort to eat or shop, you can get a bus from the DTD bus stop. :thumbsup2

Another vote for SSR....

very relaxing resort.....buses to all the resorts are nearby...so going
to ADR's at your favorite resort will be easy.
let's not forget the SPA:goodvibes

If SSR is not appealing I would pick AKV....destination in itself....

I think most would work. We are arriving the day before our 3 night cruise in Oct and chose BWV. We are using a FL Tours to/from the port, so we could have stayed anywhere. Why BWV? We could book at 11 months, since we own there, and can scoot over to Cape May for breakfast before the van comes to get us. :goodvibes

If you are using DCL transport, I would just double check which resorts they pick up from (which would be any available with land/sea packages). I know we were told we could arrange with DCL to be picked up at BWV for our cruise, but with 7 of us, a van was far less expensive.

I know BWV has a pickup, and SSR does, as well. I am guessing BCV does and I think AKL is a land/sea option too.

If you are not using DCL transport, any would be good! :) As others said SSR (for DTD) and AKV (so much to do) would top my list for a no park visit.

Just FYI on the 4 night visit with DDP but not visiting parks - that will limit you in your restaurant choices as park admission tickets are required if dining in any of the park restaurants. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

Yes, I am aware of that. But the hubby wants the DDP and thats what seems most to be the problem! I would also like to try another resort besides BWV, but I keep coming back to it for the activites and eateries that are nearby. I really want to try OKW, but I am leary that it will be a pain taking the bus to DTD everytime we want to eat. I know that SSR is alot closer to DTD, could we walk there comfortably and try to avoid the buses?

If you want to walk to DTD frequently from SSR, request Congress Park. Ask again at check in if they try to put you somewhere else (on recent stays at SSR, I have noticed that they usually offer us a room in the Springs every time, even though we requested CP or GRandstand, but usually will accommodate us, although we have had to wait once for a room to be ready). :)

OKW has the boat to DTD, and I think if you are walkers, you could walk to DTD from OKW. We are going to do that in May, as we like to wander. :)

Another vote for SSR; you'll have the most dining choices here. We love the walk to DTD from any part of SSR; very pleasant! Congress Park is closest, though, so if you want a short walk, definitely request that.

Looks like SSR is winning hands down! Okay, I think the location to DTD is winning over having a 1 bdrm. at OKW. I suppose a studio would be fine for 4 days with the DDP. SSR is truely a beautiful resort, just never enough points! :goodvibes

I vote SSR also. We love this resort for its close proximity to DTD and the quiet atmosphere. The food court and TS restaurants are good too.

If we ever do a no parks vacation, we will definitely choose SSR.

Another vote for SSR - with all adults, DDP, no parks, and no car - by using DTD, you'll have (by far) the best way to get to various resorts for dining.

Plus there's adult nightlife/movies/etc at DTD.
