Hello fellow disnuts! My family is planning a possible trip to WDW in December this year and I was wondering what your fave resort is at Christmastime. We would also possibly like to stay at a resort that we have not stayed at yet. Our home resort is Bay Lake, which we love, but it is also costly on points. We've stayed at OKW, SS, and AKL. I've heard WL is the best at Christmas. We also would like to check out Boardwalk. So, what's your favorite resort at Christmastime, and also in general? Thanks for the help!

THey are all beautiful at xmas time. I don't think there is a bad choice really. I haven't stayed at WL but we have visited it during the xmas season and the lobby is beautifully decorated and has such a cozy feel with that big fireplace. We loved AKL at xmas and of course our first home, BCV where we have stayed twice at Christmas time.

The WL lobby with the huge tree is the most impressive of Christmas scenes. Somewhat comparable is the Jambo lobby with its huge tree. We have been BWV Christmas time and it is very nice but its lobby decorations are not as impressive as WL, including because there is is a lot less room to work with. I have also been at the Poly (as a hotel stay) and its main lobby was also impressive, likewise GF.

All of this may be academic. If you will be relying on the 7 month window, you are likely to have a problem getting a room anywhere other than SSR and possibly OKW and AKV Kidani

Best for me is VGF. Spectacular decorations, the orchestra playing Christmas music, a 50 foot tree in the lobby, the gingerbread house, etc. etc. But it is difficult to snag at 7 months for December.

Thanks for your help! Yeah, I'm kinda concerned about the 7 month booking issue, but we'll keep our fingers crossed!

The deluxe resorts, not DVC resorts have the best decorations. GF is Disney's flagship resort so no surprise there, WL is also a strong contender. BWI has been a disappointment of late. BC is nice, as is Jambo.

My choice is BCV, as long as the carousel is still in the lobby. Not only does it look good, but the smell! And the villas have the Christmas tree.

You will most likely not get WLV at 7 months. UNLESS they open the new DVC section. You would've been better off renting your points at BLT and then renting a reservation at WLV ... We bought there as its nearly impossible to get in between thanksgiving and NYE...our favorite at Christmas

After staying at vgf early December a few years ago we decided nothing is better. We've toured the other resorts and wilderness lodge is close!

Book BLT right now if you haven't and you can still get something! Then...if you can change, O.K. Of not, take the boat to the WL, make a dinner ADR at Artist Point for one night. Take the monorail to GF, make a dinner ADR at Citros or even the GF cafe and enjoy the lobby. And at some point make it over to the Epcot resorts. I always try to get to the Contemporary to see the Gingerbread. You should go to Jambo too, then go to Kidani...there's charm there.

Taking in the Christmas displays takes time, time to enjoy all of the "takes" on the holidays.

I'd have to say AKL/V & WL :thumbsup2
