Dh and I are staying at AKV during the first week of January, and wish to watch the Alabama vs. Texas College Football National Championship Football Game on January 7th.

I suspect DVC members will have the best idea. Mods please don't move this thread!

We've learned that ESPN Club will be a madhouse on that day. The response on the restaurant board said that we would have to get to ESPN CLub several hours before kickoff. We suspect that the DVC Resort Lounges may be a bit more comfortable.

Where do you suggest?

Victoria Falls Lounge - AKV - Jambo
Sanaa's Lounge - AKV - Kidani
Turf Club - Saratoga Springs
Outer Rim Lounge - Contemporary
Breezeway - Beach Club Villas
ESPN Club - Boardwalk

Somewhere else...on property...or (gasp!) off-property.

Please tell me where to watch the game?

and one more thing...

ROLL TIDE!

We were just discussing the same thing! And we'll be at AKV as well. I wonder what people can tell us...

I can recommend the one in the Solarium at the Beach Club (it's a big screen, besides!) and I'll tell you my experience as to why I recommend it. When I was there in October, apparently there was some big baseball game one night (I think baseball, around October 19?) I used to lie on the couch in there and read a lot, as I was that evening. Along came a group that really wanted to watch the game, so they were checking it out to see if anyone there minded. Ididn't care sinceI was reading. I spent many evenings there, and never saw another person watch the TV.

We've watched from the Outer Rim lounge before. I don't recall what they've done with the TV's since they redid the lounge but what I liked about the location was being able to look out at Bay Lake or watch the monorail during endless commercials.

DH enjoyed watching the Monday night game at the Territory Lounge at WL.

I'd recommend the ESPN club but as you (the op) stated, you will need to be there early!!! If you dont wish to do that then I would recommend Victoria Falls Lounge at Jambo House since you are staying there. Other suggestions would be the Wide Worlds of Sports Cafe, California Grill Lounge at the CR or the Tambu Lounge at the Poly. All have big screen TV's and are a good place to watch a football game.

I would recommend the Crews Cup. It's right next to Yachtsman steakhouse. We've watched more than one Eagles game and Phillies games there. Bartenders are great. It's usually quiet except at prime dinner service hours and you can get food. Booths, sofas and tables are all available. Usually not too many people there from opening til 6:30 p.m. then again after 8:00 p.m. til closing.

Thanks everyone.

I think we will either check out the Epcot resort area or go to the Victoria Falls Lounge.

We will be able to check out Victoria Fall's Lounge while staying at AKL, and the lounges at Y&BC while at Cape May earlier in the week.

We may go to ESPN, but that is only if we feel like getting there very early.

If anyone has a better solution, please let me know.
