Best DS Lite Case? Nerf?

I am looking for the best case for my the DSs I got for my sons. I saw good reviews of the Nerf case, but would that make it too big for little hands? (They will be 7 soon). Also, does the nerf one hold any games? I can't tell from any of the descriptions. Or, would I be better going with one of the plastic hard cases for the system and then another case to put the ds and games in?

Any input would be appreciated! My dd just has the hard case, but since she's 14, she is a bit more careful than the boys will be!

I'm interested too ! Any suggestions ? I just ordered the Walmart deal & I'm supposed to get it tomorrow. But my DS like yours will b 7 & let's just say a little rough. I heard that the nurf case is the best but was wondering if it holds any games. So far I've ordered him 5.

Both of my boys (and all of their friends) have the Nerf case. It is wonderful. It doesn't hold games, but we have a little metal box that holds the DS games. The Nerf case is fabulous --it is amazing how many times the ds gets dropped! It works fine for my 6 year old.

ITA....we have three DS and I cannot tell you how many times they've dropped it on the concrete floor of the garage. And you can get any color DS b/c you never see the outside shell! (That's great if you find that pink one on sale for your son! haha!)

I 1000% agree that Nerf is awesome! My DD (5) has one on her ds lite and has no problems playing it. She will be getting a DSi for Christmas and it will come complete with games and a new Nerf case!

Yep - another NERF supporter here! My DS has dropped his DSlite a few times but the NERF case always protected it!

I recently got my son the Nerf case and since then he has dropped it and it was just fine (whew!!) When I first put it on he wasn't crazy about it but he has gotten used to it now. He is 6 and small for his age, and can still use it fine, it just took him a bit to figure out where his "pencil" was (stylus).

A word of caution for new DS owners...be very careful about how many DS games you carry with you at a time. We were on a cruise and so had a case with 9 DS games in it. Someone in San Juan now has it. I'm usually very careful about only bringing 1-2 extra games for him in my purse but because we were on vacation we were carrying the whole pack.

I bought two of the Nerf cases for my nephews last Christmas because they looked like they would offer good protection. One was fine, the other nephew put the case on his and after a couple of weeks, it had messed up the exterior of his DS. It left a weird black "film" residue on the outside of the DS. My SIL called Nintendo and they replaced it for free because the Nerf cover is an authorized Nintendo product. Within a week he received a new one in the mail. The funniest thing is, both nephews ended up not liking the way the Nerf cover felt, so they took them off!!

Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Game Stop, pretty much anywhere that sells gaming stuff. There's a case for the DS and a slightly different case for the DSi so just double check. It's a bit harder to find the 'girly' colors I've noticed, I bought DD a used one from Game Stop b/c she wanted a purple one and it works really well.

Thanks for the reviews! I ordered 2 off of Amazon for $9.95 each. The different colors will help us keep track of which one is which since I got both the blue DS when it was on sale yesterday!
