We will be driving straight through, leaving about 5 am to make it through Atlanta before the rush hour hopefully. Anyone know when Atlanta morning rush hour starts?

I think you will be hitting the morning rush hour leaving at that time. I think it is from about 7:00 - 8:30, but could be wrong. We generally leave at 6:30 and have about four hours to Atlanta and nearly two hours to Chattanooga. We like to hit Atlanta about 10:00 - 10:30 after the morning rush and before lunch.

Starts 6 -7 am Ends 10-11. Lunch Mini rush 11-1
Evening rush 3-7
Road Construction 11 PM to 5 AM. (I am not making that up!)

hours not defined as rush hour are still VERY VERY BUSY!

Atlanta traffic has two speeds Bat out of XXX and FULL STOP.

READ the signs. There are folks who will say you should always go straight thru and avoid the bypass (I-285) However, if the interstate is STOPPED the bypass will be better.

Since all of you previous posters are from (or were from) Tennessee, I have a question. Could you tell me your directions for getting to WDW? I am driving myself and my four kids in June, and I just want to be sure I am going the right way. I live close to Nashville. We are actually staying at ASMu. I got lost last year, so I am just a little bit worried. Thanks!!

I hear that there is alot of bridge construction on I-75 south in northern Georgia.
Not sure about how to get there from Nashville, but once you hit I-75 south you don't make a turn until you get way into Florida. Go to Mayquest and get directions. They make it easy. My boys learned to read directions helping me get us to Disney.

Well, mine won't help. Go to Nashville airport, get on plane, get off at Disney.

I am not driving that far. :rotfl:
