We're trying to decide on a double stroller for the 2 year old and 6 month old we'll be adopting soon. We used a Peg Perego Tandem with our older 2 kids, but it's missing some parts now and is a little too worn to be used again. I've seen that the Graco Duoglider gets good reviews on Epinions, but the huge wheels are a turn off for me (we had a Graco with our first and I found the wheels difficult to manuever in and out of places). If it's the best stroller, however, we'll just have to suck it up and deal with the huge wheels

Let's pretend that price is not an issue, what is the best double stroller? Help me out Dis-families :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I had this for my kids when they were 3 and 1 and it was great. It is a side by side and is very lightweight and folds up nice and small. You can usually get a good deal on them on Ebay or the Yahoo StrollerSwap group.

While we were waiting for DD to be born, I researched double strollers extensively. I knew what I needed and wanted in a stroller: comfortable, easy to maneuver, large basket, ample sun shades, reclining seats, a cup holder for parents and the most important to me - trays for each child so they can snack while we're on the go.

Each time I looked, I kept going back to the Graco DuoGlider. Many of the reviews went on about them being heavy, bulky, etc. I'm short and was worried about getting it in and out of our vehicle without seriously injuring myself. :lmao:

But, we went for it and have no regrets at all. I have no trouble getting it folded and into our out of the vehicle and pushing it with two children in it is a breeze. We love it!

Congrats on your upcoming adoption!

I'm glad the DuoGlider worked for your family but it certainly was a burden for ours! We have a three year old and a one and a half year old. Their combined weight really made the thing difficult to maneuver and they're not that big of kids. I think if I would have ever taken it to a Disney park and had to maneuver it around those crowds, I would have trashed the thing before the end of our trip!

We recently bought two Maclaren strollers - a Quest and Triumph but not before considering the Twin Techno. We weighed our options and decided to go with two single strollers. There are latches available to buy if you want to hook the two of them together.

Right now, DS and DD have a combined weight of about 50 lbs. Even with the basket full of a diaper bag, bottle bag, my purse and purchases - it's easy to maneuver. I can fully steer it with one hand. We have the LXI model, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference in the handling.

Love, love, love our Macleran! We actually bought it for a WDW trip last December and did not get to go. So, we are gearing up for September. We have a 3 and 1 year old. They are big boys...(all men in the family are 6' - 6'5") It moves so easily! There is not much storage room, but it is better to travel as light as possible in the parks.

We had an Eddie Bower Graco front/back edition. It was supposed to be one of the best, but we hated it. Before we went to Disney in 2004 with a 2 and 4 year old I bought a double-umbrella stoller from a second hand shop for $40. It was great! It was easy to fold, easy to manuver and cheap!! One of the most important things about it was that we could use it from the hotel to the car, the car to the tram, the tram to the monorail...you get the picture. The best part is that we still have that same double stoller for when we go in September for a now five and two year old! (Hopefully, our seven year old will walk!)

Have a great time on your trip and congratulations on your family's new edition.

The best double stroller for Disney may not be the best double stroller for the rest of your life. At home, I finally hit on the perfect combination for us - an Eddie Bauer/Safety 1st Transit Tandem for quick in-and-outs or stores and a Mountain Buggy Urban Double for walks, the zoo, or other all-terrain trips.

I like them both for different reasons. The TT has been to WDW, but our last trip we took 2 Maclaren Volos that I bought used.

You may want to look around the internet or ask at the StrollerSWAP Yahoo! group. There are a lot of really cool strollers besides the Gracos and Evenflos you can get at Wal-mart or Babies R Us.

Thanks for all the helpful replies :goodvibes ! We haven't decided on a long term stroller yet, but we had a Peg Perego Tender with our older 2 kids and we loved it. It was so light, but really comfortable (perfect for Disney). It was a hand-me-down for us and after we were through with it, it wasn't really usable. I just found one on Craigslist for $30! It's old and we may want something more updated for "real life", but this will be perfect for our Disney trip!

Thanks again, you guys are so great :cheer2:

I have both a Graco Duoglider and a Maclaren Ralley Twin. Really it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking specifically for a trip to Disney, I would not get the duoglider. Transporting that beast to and from the park would really be a pain. But, it's a great stroller. I bought it after the birth of my ds. I wanted a side by side but found that my 22 mos old just could not be trusted to sit next to her newborn brother without trying to poke at his eyes, etc. The duoglider worked great for us. We still use it on some trips to the zoo, walks around the neighborhood. We have a minivan so we have plenty of room for it. My kids love it. It's super comfy for them. I think they actually prefer it over the Maclaren. Honestly, I was prepared to hate the Duoglider but was very happy to find that I liked it and it worked great for us!

Our Disney stroller is the Maclaren. It is a great side by side stroller. A little heavier than some of the other side by sides but by the time we got it, dd was 3.5 and I felt like of all the sbs strollers it was the sturdiest. I tried out the combi and the peg side by sides. I loved how light weight they were but my dd really looked squished in it. The Maclaren is heavier than the other 2 but it does seem more sturdy to me. The weight is really not an issue. It folds up very nicely and is easy to carry when folded. I bought the prior year model from albeebaby.com at a great price!
