We've used and thoroughly enjoyed the Passporter the last two years, and were just wondering if there were any other guidebooks out there as good, or dare I ask... better?

lOVE the passporter,,also verryyyyyyy goooooddd is the UNOFFICIAL GUIDE....(DH like it better than passporter)...also good is the official guide...I also have and like.wdw for couples, wdw for cheapskates, official guide for adults, everything guide,,,andprolly about 3 or 4 more(I also do TOURGUIDE MIKE)

We just got back from my first trip with kids in many years (I have adult daughters, and now a 2 1/2 year old).

We used Fodor's WDW/Universal with Kids 2005 by Kim Wright Wiley and found it to be very helpful. It's well organized and thorough, and full of tips and tricks as well as heavy doses of just plain old common sense. It also has excellent, simple maps. In fact, we relied on Fodor's so much we actually carried it with us in the stroller to refer to as we went through the day.

Big help, good book, definitely two thumbs up. I'm sure there are many others.

I also like the unofficial guide to disney, but i also found Orlando and WDW for dummies book to be good. I just bought the "Hidden MIckey's" book which gives clues to finding hidden mickey's on rides, all over the theme parks and the resorts as well, another traveller we met while in line at a ride mentioned and i was just able to get my hands on one. I look forward to using it in Oct :earsgirl:

I love the unofficial guide because of the great information. The passporter is great to keep everything organized. I love both of them. :sunny:

Which Unofficial Guide? I've seen more than one, I think DW even has one with "Unofficial Guide" in the title by Fodors from 2003.

I am using the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2005. It is very informative. I am also interested in learning more about the Passporter. I have never heard of it. Where can you get it and how is it different from Unofficial?

As a side note, I used the touring plans in 2003 when my kids were 2 and 6 and it worked like a charm.

Has anyone used The Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World ?

Recently bought this guide while waiting for the 2005 Passporter. It gave some useful information on nicer restaurants/resorts, but the rest of the book seemed standard to our Birnbaum's guide.

When I was planning my trip for January, I bought the PassPorter, Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide, Birnbaum's, and Birbaum's for Kids. My favorite is definitely the Unofficial Guide. The PassPorter would be second. They work very well together and the Unofficial Guide even recommends the PassPorter (or is it vice versa?). Anyway they are both good, but the Unofficial Guide just gives more information. If you get it, you better like to read though. It is thick. Alot of people like Birnbaum's, but it is the official Disney guide and is too sugar coated in my opinion. It doesn't have near the information in it that the other two do. The Unofficial Guide some people say is too harsh, but everyone has to admit it is completely unbiased. I am now planning a solo trip for May and find myself continuously going back to the Unofficial Guide. The other day I bought Birnbaum's WDW without Kids and the Unofficial Guide to WDW for Grown-ups. Again, I think the Unofficial Guide's version is better than Birnbaum's. Just my opinion.

I read several guide books before our trip last April and the Unoffical Guide was by far the most useful.

I read and reread the information enough to be able to make very educated decisions.

We never waited on line for long and we were able to ride all our favorites twice, despite other people who were waiting in 50 minute lines later in the day.

sarahandhannahsmom,

The Passporter is a wonderful guide book. It does not have as much information as the UG, but it is really a wonderful book. It has the information without all of the extra's. You will not regret getting the Passporter. It has pockets in the back of the book where you can keep receipts, maps, tickets, momentos, etc. Go to www.passporter.com and you can actually get a description of the book, as well as order one online! Trust me, you will be glad you did!!!

:)

Another UG user here I love that book! Although I don't always agree with the resort reviews...I have reccomended it to all of my friends :)

Would it be less expensive to purchase a passporter at my local barnes and noble, or on passporter.com ? Does anyone know how to get a coupon with passporter.com? I'm thinking of getting the WDW and Disney cruise edition. Thanks !

You can order the Passporter directly and save 15%.
I have both Passporter and UG and like them both. However, no guide book can give you as much information from so many different sources as right here on the DIS! There are many of these Disney forums online too, and many books, but after numerous trips, I have come to rely on the DIS folks for up to the minute accurate information.
