So we will be arriving on a Monday afternoon, the only thing planned for that night is he fireworks at MK. Where should we have dinner, I want something that screams " YEAH we made it to Disney " ( no epcot, as my husband says " we are going to snack and drink around the world there")

Current ADRs for the trip

dinner at 50 prime time

breakfast at Cape May

lunch at the plaza ( because I love the plaza at Disneyland)

Thank you for your help!!!!

What screams disney to me? Well eating in the castle if you want to overpay (overpaying is VERY disney haha) But what I find disney is taking the full loop around the monorail and then eating at the Contemporary at Chef Mickeys watching the monorail zoom through and you see all the disney characters.

For a non-character meal what screams disney to me is just eating at our hotel's restaurant or food court as that is my family's tradition.

You could always hop the monorail to the GF for Cinderella's dinner there. It's not a pricey as eating in the Castle. Or go to the CR and dine w/ Mickey and Friends at Chef Mickeys....can't get much more Disney than eating w/ Mickey!! :dance3:

Or, if you want to eat in the MK, I'd go to Crystal Palace. It's fun w/ Pooh and the gang and the food is usually really good.

Have fun with whatever you choose !!

Tony's always gets me in the Disney mood. It fits right in the whole scene as you enter the MK, and I've always found the food to be really good, albeit nothing too gormet or exotic. Liberty Tree Tavern also offers a nice family style meal, and I love how the theme fits into Liberty Square. You could also hop boat over to GF for 1900 Park Fair Buffet. The food is good, and there is something for everybody.

Our traditional first meal of the trip is lunch at Tony's.:littleangel:

If you have children in your party I would recommend Chef Mickeys on the first night! If not, I would opt for 'Ohana (my favorite) - even if you do have children they would enjoy 'Ohana also! :)

Are you saying you are going to be in the MK for fireworks? The only place that I really like in the MK is Tony's.

Depending on if you have kids and their ages maybe Cinderella's Royal Table.

Other than that Ohana or the California Grill would do it for me.

Our 1st night ADR for the last 4 trips has been San Angle why :confused3 but that's where we go and have ADR's for 1st night there in October but that's EPCOT.
So how about Ohana or Kona then walk to the pool bar get a drink and watch the Wiches fireworks from the Poly beach.

Since you are going to MK for the fireworks I would go to Crystal Palace for dinner.

I say since you're doing the fireworks try The Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. That is actually what my family is going to try this year. We will be arriving on 8/24 and staying through 9/1. We plan on arriving at the Magic Kingdom on 8/24 around 3 or 4pm. I've made a reservation for us (me, wife, daughters of 6 and 8) at The Crystal Palace for 7:30pm. I figure we can have a nice dinner with the characters and then stay for Spectromagic and Wishes fireworks. Good luck with your decision!

If you want to eat at MK, then I suggest Tony's. The Crystal Palace is character dining, which means expensive, and the buffet is not very good.

Or, you could eat at your resort before heading to MK. Where are you staying?

We ususally eat at California grill, but for our honeymoon, we are trying O'hana. Never been, and really looking forward to it. Then maybe some drinks around the monorail??

For our first night we are eating at Cali Grill. Our ADR is for 5:30pm which will allow us to watch MK as the sun goes down (very pretty BTW) and once we are done, we plan on riding the monorail around the loop and then when Wishes is about to begin, head back to the CR and go back up (can do it if you have your dining receipt) and watch them from the balcony up there (favorite place to watch them).

Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's. More so Chef Mickeys because that just screams "Disney" to me.

We eat at Ohana's for our first meal.

We do this too. Ressie for fireworks time, request table by window. Lights out, wishes piped in and you will be in awe of the fireworks dancing above the castle. I get choked up everytime!

We generally always choose something on the Monorail for our first dinner, because there's no other way in our minds to start a vacation to the World than to visit the Magic Kingdom. On our last trip we chose the Kona Café. We've got the California Grill booked for our next. We also considered Citricos.
