I read in a book recently that Mythos (IoA) is the best restaurant in any theme park in the world. I am looking to make a few PS's before my trip next year. I was hoping you folks with plenty of Orlando experience could give me your views on the best dining in Disney and beyond.

Every year "Orlando Magazine" has its Best of Orlando issue.

Since I rarely leave property, I have eaten at Emerils and thought that was quite good, may I suggest a meal at Citrico's at the Grand Floridian. My husband and I ate there on our last trip and have to say we think it is fine dining at its best, great service, and priced fairly for what they offer. So my vote for best dining in the Orlando area, specifically Disney, is Citrico's.....

If you are looking for brunch...try Capriccios in the Peabody on International drive.

Bahama breeze..there is one on International Drive and one right near downtown disney.

Del Frisco, double eagle steakhouse.
Charley's Steakhouse.
Ming Court.
Hot Dog Heaven (Colonial Drive)
Orlando has some really wonderful restaurants if you get out and away from the parks.

Absolutely loved Mythos. Had Thanksgiving dinner there 2002 and even my kids were wowwwwwed! Can't wait to try it again.

As for Emerils, ate there that same weekend and will never go back. Food was okay but had a pricetag meant for "exceptional". Tables were too close together, it was loud in there, portions were very small and service was lacking IMHO.

Of course, only been to each restaurant once and we all know that different nights, different chef, different waitstaff can make or break a meal. As for going back to Emerils again I don't think the things I didn't like will change.

Emerils has some wonderful things and some that if they were the first thing I tried there I wouldn't go back either. His Tchoup Chop restaurant is all good though...excellent. At emeril's we have the best luck doing the digustation.

LOVE Mythos and Tchoup Chop! Emeril's Tchoup Chop is one of our all time faves...excellent food and service!

I get Orlando magazine, and every year the best restaurant (according to them) is Hue. Has anyone tried it?
