I was wondering which deluxe resort would be the best with my 2 boys ages 10 and 8 years old? They love to swim and they love the arcade. I don't think they would really care too much about the room itself. :goodvibes
Which mod. would be best for them too?

Thanks,

Loralie

10 and 8..... I think your best bet is neither deluze nor moderate.... go with the resort that straddles the definition, WL! Bunk beds will stop the nightly battles of sleeping in the same bed and two boys that age will LOVE Whispering Canyon!

Since they love to swim, I would say BC or YC. Storm Along Bay is perfect for people who love to swim. They also have a nice arcade.

I would say the Beach Club. If the boys love to swim they will enjoy stormalong bay. There is a good arcade at the BC too. I would vote the BC over the YC as I think the boys would enjoy the theaming of the resort more, I find the BC atmosphere more relaxing.

I agree, either BC, or our favorite the YC. Either one will give you acces to the coolest onsite pool, Stormalong Bay.

Beach Club! SAB is awesome! My kids (13, 9 , 4) enjoyed spending time at the pool almost as much as the parks. The arcade is by the pool right beside Beaches and Cream.

CSR would be the best mod. Your boys would love the Dig Site. Check out pics on my website below

My 3 ds favorite hands down is the Polynesian. They love the volcano pool and going down the slide. They also love the arcade and we always have to check our island newspaper, given at check in to see what days they are having the arcade challenge. Its an hour of free arcade time for resort guests with id. any game that does not give a prize. They actually have been there for over an hour. and we also have a little tradition that they are giving a roll of quarters each and they get to monorail to the contemporary game room and have fun there. That game room has prize redemption so they love that too.

My boys are 11 & 13, and we have stayed at AKL and BWI. They loved the slide and pool, ESPN arcade and bikes at the BWI (also the rooms are much larger in size). The like the animals at AKL. Overall, the BWI was a better fit for our family, but the AKL was very nice also.

I have to agree with previous posters. I'd say go with the YC or BC. Our sons (12 and 16) thought it was great!!! :cool1:

They loved SAB and the arcade. Best of all, they liked being in close proximity to their 2 favorite parks...Epcot and the Studios. They actually liked sitting on our balcony at night watching the fireworks better than seeing them from inside the parks.

I will say that they also liked the CR and Poly. Those are next on our list for future visits.

We also spent one night at AKL. 12 y/o loved it. 16 y/o liked it...but the animal thing appealed much more to the 12 y/o. So it would totally depend on their personalities as to how much they would enjoy a stay there. AKL also has a great pool area and arcade. ;) Only downside I could see here may be the food choices. My boys were brave and tried Boma...they just aren't in any hurry to eat there again. We didn't try the food court but it looked nice.

You'll have a great time wherever you stay!!!!!! ::MickeyMo

I would suggest either the Contemporary (great arcade) or the Animal Kingdom Lodge (great theming) with boys for the deluxe, and for the moderate resort, CSR has 2 arcades and a great pool slide!

I agree that YC/BC would be a good choice, but if you want to save some money and still stay deluxe I think AKL is a good pick. The hotel itself is great and add in some animals. They are the perfect age to enjoy it there. A few years from now it won't be a neat. The pool is large and has the food court and arcade right there at the pool. You can really relax there without running from place to place. If you don't want to hang in the room, you can book standard view, save money and spend your time enjoying the hotel. Lots of viewing areas.

Of moderates, I would pick CSR. The pool is great, best among moderates, you have the food bar and an arcade right there at the pool as well. This hotel also has water amentities and bike rentals. (and I believe a second arcade in main building too). Add a salon and health club and HUGE hot tub.

Neither share transportation and we found it to be quite good.

My ds prefers the CR. Loves the arcade. The slide is high and long and he really gets a kick out of it.
