We need a real BUDGET place to stay for a few days on the coast...We are just looking for clean and safe.Any ideas???

Thanks for any help.:D

When we cruised last May, I used priceline and got the Doubletree Hotel for around $35 a night. It was right on the beach, and we were very happy with the outcome. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com and look and see what others are getting in that area. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

... and you might want to check into purchasing your tickets for KSC ahead of time from some of the vendors that other people on this site have used to purchase Disney tickets.(ticketmania, ect.) you can also get a good discount on KSC tickets. We did KSC the day before our cruise and really enjoyed it.

Canadians are not allowed to use priceline...:(

Any other ideas?

Well I can tell you where NOT to stay. Ramada Inn ksc.
We stayed there and it was the nastiest place I had ever seen. THe beds were like we were sleeping on the floor, hard as rocks.
We stayed there one night and left. I had booked it without seeing it online.

I can highly recommend the Holiday Inn Titusville. The hotel is spotless, next to the Indian River where you can view launching) and a hop and a skip from the exit to the causeway to the KSC. It is a typical Holiday Inn, (not fancy )but the employees were friendly and helpful.

I think we paid $80 a nite per room. After staying at this hotel for 3 nites and getting to know the area a little bit, I am glad we stayed there.

Of course, you can go down to cocoa beacch area, which is about 30 min. south.

What about hotwire? Can you use them? I think some folks use to report getting the Hilton in Cocoa Beach using Hotwire 3*.

$80 US is about $130 Canadian per night. Well out of our price range.

We were hoping for $45 to $55 per night. I'm dreaming arn't I?

It would be for the middle of next week...Probably the 5th and 6th.:(

since you cant use priceline, try orbitz, when i booked rooms in the fall for outside of disney they had canadian automotive specials at some hotels, the price was less than what i had to pay. Oribtz/Travelocity/Expedia. or Roomsavers.com they have alot for florida area. Hope this helps.

Over on the DCL cruise board, Dave from Marietta offers his site for help in the Cocoa Beach area www.dcltribute.com . You'll find lodging info, along with lots of other info regarding the Cocoa Beach area. Have a great time!

We spent 5 days at Cocoa Beach, staying at the Hampton Inn.It was great! We also visited KSC,about a 40 minute drive from that hotel.I loved that area!

Somewhere I saw the KSc HOliday Inn going for a pretty cheap rate.

I'll post if I can find the website.
