I have an exchange student coming from Thailand. She has an iphone 5c and assuming it's unlocked she will need a sim card to get cell service while here. Can anyone direct me to the best deal for a sim card? She won't need data necessarily. Talk and text will be most important. She can use wifi when necessary.

Thanks

How long will she be in the States? How much time will she spend on her phone? Does she need to use it to call home?

T-Mobile seemed to have the best options for low-use; load $100 and it could last a whole year. Or they have unlimited plans that start around $30/month. But, if you need international long distance, you'll need to do a lot more research.

Be aware T-mobile just changed their pre paid accounts mid August, Gold rewards ($100 for 1 year expiration) is no longer offered and pre paid accounts will now have a $3.00 per month minimum fee. Existing accounts are grandfathered for now. This may still be the best deal for low usage.
