I'm turning to you all for some advice... We JUST planned a "bonus" Disney trip and leave in 9 days:yay: I must have been really whining because DH also agreed to stay on property and we got the QSDP

DS-8 is known in the family as "Picky McPickerson" and on the last trip wouldn't eat the grapes or carrots that came with the kids meals, proclaimed them "mushy and slimy" respectively. Without proving TMI, it became clear that he needs to eat more fruit and veggies on this next trip! So, he's usually perfectly willing to eat whole fruit or cut up fresh fruit "salad." I know I have seen these options at various places in the World, but never paid attention to what can be had for a snack credit. I would love to know from you all which options give the most fruit for a single snack credit!

Whole fruit I'll generally pay for OOP even when I have a dining plan because they're so cheap (with tax under $1.50). I'll use snack credits for cut up apples with caramel dipping sauce or a bowl of grapes typically. My kids don't like melon or else we'd also get bowls of mixed fruit. They also have containers of carrot and celery sticks I believe with a ranch dressing but we never buy them since one of my kids is allergic to raw carrots. I assume they're fresher than the bagged carrots with the kids meals. Don't forget that yogurt can also be purchased using a snack credit, including the yogurt parfaits that have granola/oatmeal (I see these more at resort CS than park CS); that can also help with TMI issues that makes fruits and veggies necessary. If he'll eat a salad then you can get side salads for a snack credit as well. The bowls of fruits are all the same size.

Your son isn't being picky by refusing the little bags of grapes and carrots that come with kids meals. They're HORRIBLE. The carrots get all dried out and semi soft and the grapes are partly mushy with a taste like they're turning soon.

It's not Disney, but have you looked at Just Tomatoes? They make freeze dried fruit that my kids go crazy over. Especially the pineapple. It's like eating candy, and since it is freeze dried, it travels well and doesn't go bad. :) My son is the pickiest kid on the planet (seriously, we have to see feeding specialists because he starves himself so much he is too thin) and even he will eat them.

On our last trip, we used a lot of snack credits to buy the fruit salad bowls and the bowls of cut pineapple (normal price usually around 3.95) We paid oop for apples and bananas.

I think the best use of a snack option for fruit is the fresh pineapple spear (I usually get mine at the Aloha Isle in MK)...it is wonderful!

Glad I found this thread!

I was wondering about the best fruit snack credit deals too... besides Aloha Isle, are there many other places that sell the pineapple bowls? My kids love pineapple and it would be great if it's offered in several places.

At some of the resorts you can get a bowl of strawberries as a snack which is really nice.

AK has the pineapple too but I forget where :confused3

I do believe there are fruit "bowls" at the resorts. In the refridge section. THey can be bought with a snack credit. There is grapes in them, but also melon and berries.

Does POP happen to have the plain strawberry bowl for a snack credit? That's where we will be :goodvibes
