Best Deal?--anyone do the math?

So, I'm just wondering with all of these new codes released...what is the best deal for a September trip? I booked the "free dining" package. Generally, we do eat one counter service and one table service per day so the dining plan makes sense for us. Now with the MYW package and room only codes for the same time period, I'm just wondering if that is the best deal. Anyone do the dollars/cents comparisons?

Depends.. if you booked a value during free dining, that is your best option. If you are staying deluxe, that *might* be your best bet.. depends on # in party too.

It depends upon the number of people in your party. We have 4 and our 2 kids are considered adults so the free dining is the best deal for us. I have been trying to get the new discount on my Mom's ressie for a single room because this would be a better deal for her than free dining. There is no availability for our resort on our dates. I think the new code is pretty hard to get.

We are staying at the Beach Club, 2 adults 6 nights 7 days:

1. Original Ressie - Room, Tickets & FD - $2,758.34;
2. Now - BC Room Only, MYW w/Dinining - $2,701.22 - Save $57.12
Could have gotten
3. BC Room Only - $1,680.72 + Tickets w/Park Hopper $528.00 total - $2,208.74. This would have saved us $549.60 from original ressie w/FD.

We have never done the dining before and thought this would be the best way to go. I had already booked our resturants awhile ago.

Now looking at the numbers, I'm wondering if we should have done #3. It is the best deal but my original thinking was we were still saving $, keeping the dining and paying for it. I'm making myself and my poor TA nuts:crazy2: .

The biggest question is - Will dining for the 2 adults for 6 nights / 7 days be more or less than $549.60? Scenario 3 doesn't include any money for food.

before booking our package with free dining we tried to figure out how much we'd spend on food for the week. if you want to have a nice table service meal each day, with a counter service breakfast/lunch the free dining is definitely worth it. you'd spend just as much if not more money out of pocket paying for those things..

It depends on the number of people in your party, their ages, where you're staying, when and the percentage attached to your PIN code.

For us, free dining was $34 different from our 40% off PIN code if I remember correctly. For a great number of people, particularly those staying in Values or Mods (where 40% off wouldn't be as much money), Free dining is the way to go!!

I did the math for our free dining stay at CSR, which is $1391 for 7 nights (1-day base tickets, we have APs). The Passholder package of room+dining was $1385, only a savings of $6 and with the free dining package we'll get the 1-day tickets to apply to our AP renewal.

The room-only at CSR would have been $780. I figured we'd spend more than $600 over the week on food if we kept our current ADRs. It's also nice to go on vacation knowing most everything is paid for.
