Best Days - Wouldn't these get skewed...?

Wouldn't the "Best Days" and "Parks to Avoid" get skewed by the number of people following these recommendations? Is the number of folks following recommendations from TGM, UG, TouringPlans, etc... enough to actually make a "best day" not such a good day? I mean if lots of folks know that Thursday is bad for MK and they don't go that day, won't Thursday end up being a good day?

I'm having a hard time trying to word my question. Hope you understand what I'm asking.

With all the mountains of visitors that Disney World gets in a year, the people on the Dis, or reading Unofficial guide, or subscribing to TGM, is minimal. People that research spend hours figuring out when the typical person will be attending, and then do the opposite. Because so few people actually spend a lot of time planning their trips (hard to believe from the number of people on the Dis, but still true) we are still in the minority. The impact people like us have is not high.

An example is the emails I've gotten from Disney lately, with reminders to make dining reservations for my September trip, and stressing that it is very hard to make them after your arrival. I made them 5 months ago, as did many of us on the boards. But there are MANY people who will just show up and expect to be seated at an TS that they want, and be shocked that they have problems getting sat.

The number of people that follow TGM or the UG is small enough relative to the total number that go to WDW, that its effect is miniscule.

I'm convinced that at least 50% of the people down there do no planning at all other than book their hotel before they walk into the Magic Kingdom and open their map, right in front of everyone else getting there at 11:30 am at the tunnel under the railroad track. Another 30% do only very minimal planning.

Thank you both for responding! That's sortof what I figured, but I wanted to be assured before I kept on planning around this info. Info I'm glad I have by the way as this will be our first trip to WDW!!

ITA with that assessment -- we who plan are definitely in the minority.

I've travelled with some of those who don't, so I'm all too familiar with that mindset. And you wouldn't believe how many people there are in the parks who don't know the most basic things -- for instance, what a fastpass is and how to get one!

" Will the [Touring] Plans Continue to Work Once the Secret is Out?

Yes! First, all the plans require that a patron be there when a park opens. Many Disney World patrons simply won't get up that early while on vacation. Second, less than 1% of any day's attendance has been exposed to the plans-too few to affect results. Last, most groups tailor tha plans, skiping rides or shows according to taste."
