Best days to visit (MK)

More conflicting info ........... I've done lots of research and none of the books seem to list Mondays as the "worst" day to visit the MK. As a matter of fact, UG lists is as the "best" park to visit that day. We arrive on Sunday, 8/13, and were planning to go to MK on Monday morning, 8/14. Also, no little kids so I'm not worried about the unbelievable "wow" factor of visiting MK first with the other parks later in the week.

Monday's morning EMH's are at AK and the night EMH's are at MGM. (Again, because only teenagers we are probably going to avoid the morning EMH's, so we won't be at AK that day.)

Here's my problem: I recently read a thread on here saying that Mondays are bad (as in more crowded) for MK. We've got 8-day Park Hoppers, so I have flexibility about when/where to visit each day.

What would you do on Monday morning? Have you found MK to be bad on Mondays (we are planning to get there for opening, and leave by mid-afternoon.) Would you suggest another park? Thoughts? Thanks so much!

That particular Monday, you will not have any problems at Magic Kingdom in teh morning. In the evening, however, it may get really crowded. Mondays in the summer are when people like to start vacation, which means that halfway through the day lots of people will start arriving. On Monday I would do Epcot, and I would do MK on Tuesday if I had a choice. It will be nice there all day.

No one else wants to take pity on me and try to make me feel better by assuring me the crowds won't be horrible on a Monday morning at MK? On the other hand, I'm really sure that I read posts from alot of people saying to avoid the MK on Mondays.........

I know, I know - no one has a crystal ball and no one can really predict crowds (any more than weather!) I guess I'm just looking for others' personal experience in the past.

Let's try it this way, if you're going to be there on Monday, 8/14, which park are you visiting and why? Or, if you were there last year during the 3rd week of August, what worked or didn't work for you? Is that OK to ask?

I personally would go ahead and do MK on Monday since the other parks will be offering morning and then evening EMH. If you find it to be too crowded for your tastes after arriving just hop to another park. That is if you have park hoppers.

Now everyone has there own way around the parks unless you have not been there before. However we go as much as possiable and we like to experience as much as we can. So we would go to AK since it opens early, get there at rope drop, fast past everest then walk on the stand by line at everest, then the stand by line on the safari. We would then head back to everest and use our fast pass. By then crowds would be comming and we would head to MK.
These plans can be altered at anytime
Sometimes if it is hot we fast pass river rapids instead of everest.
What ever you don't let the crowds get to you have a great time.

quite honestly I find MK busy every day. But even more so when it is a Early entry day.

My advice is to go the day you want ...make sure you are there early...
stay until lunch time then move to another park.

next visit ............
be first in line again...do the attractions you missed the first visit.

If you want to do parade in afternoon..mark your spot early,

this has worked for us for over 5 yrs now

As a general rule, I avoid MK on Mondays & Saturdays.
