Best day to visit

What would be the best day to visit during the first week of August? We will only have one day, but we are primarily concerned with visiting HP. We will have the one day two park passes, so we would also like to try the Simpsons ride. We have been before, and that and HP are the only things we haven't tried. We could visit on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

I would try Thursday to stay away from the weekends. The Express Plus passes are the same price all week so the crowd levels should be the same but more locals head to the parks on weekends.
