Best day for MK in Dec?

We are going the first two weeks of Dec. We are not doing MVMCP this year, so what would be the better day to go to MK knowing they will be busy those days. Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday?

None of them. Go on a party day - they are much, much less busy than non-party days.

We will have two days of MK, but we aren't doing the party. We are all day type of people so it doesn't bother me to go on of those days. However, is there anything between the 4th and the 15th that someone knows about?

The Christmas Parade is filmed during this time period. Usually 2 days I believe - last year was around the 9th if I remember correctly. But these dates can change. This will primarily affect the crowd level on Main St and the surrounding areas.

The Monday or Wednesday. Check to see when EMH is, if you are staying offsite you will want to avoid the EMH day, but if you are onsite you may want to take advantage of EMH.

I didn't see anything about EMH on the calendar, but I did see something about the party. Is there a specific place to check? Also, has anyone ever gone to the parade taping? I had a friend go once. My daughter would love to go.

Non-party days will be crowded. I remember being there on a Wednesday around that time, we left around noon to go do something else because it was so crowded. We had AP's so we could park hop. We came back later for the evening parade and fireworks. After that, I always plan for MK on party days and do something else in the evening.

Debbie, what weeks did you do? Supposedly when we are going its the lowest levels with 2s and 3s.

Keep in mind those numbers are an average. You can expect party days to feel like a 1, but non-party days will be more like a 5 or 6. It's really a big difference.

OK, so I shouldn't go off the suggested crowd numbers? We don't want to buy park hoppers, so I'm trying to maximize our days. Our family goes all day long, so I'm not worried about staying until closing. I just don't want to miss things because we only do a partial day with the party in the evening. My kids really enjoy the nights in the parks with the lights on, entertainment, etc.

You will get more done on a party day than on a non-party day. The extra hours you will get on a non-party day will not make up for the increase in crowds.

I very much recommend the crowd calendar at easywdw.com

If you really want to see the night time parade, you'll need to go on a non-party day, but you need to be prepared to get much less accomplished if you do.

Personally, I would go on a party day, leave when the park closes at 7:00, have dinner at one of the MK resorts, and then watch the party fireworks from one of the MK resorts or the TTC.

I understand where KJMAX is coming from, because I too love spending an evening in MK. The easywdw site, which you are familiar with, will have the EMH listed in the crowd calendar. I would choose a night in MK on a busy night over a resort dinner any day!

We are going then too. We're arriving on a day when there is no party so we are going to MK in the evening JUST for the parade and fireworks. Then we will spend the following day (a party day) at MK. No party for us either.

Wow, thought the extra hours would make up for it. If we go to the party we'd only use our party tickets, otherwise don't know what we'll do, thanks for the info

OK good, I saw the EMH on easywdw, they pack so much on that calendar, I think I missed it before. lol Sounds like we might do one party day, and one non party day. Thanks.

I totally agree that party days are much better despite the shorter hours. People really gravitate to the non-party days, so you're there with much larger crowds on those days. I love party season when Disney makes it so easy to pick lower crowd days!
