Best Day for Alton Towers?

I'm planning a visit in August - I haven't been for years. I remember that Friday was a relatively quiet (well as quiet as summer gets) day - is this still the case?

If not what day would frequent visitors recommend?

I'd recommend a Sunday in late September or beg of October but sorry No idea about August!

Thanks for you reply, but we're trying to find some days out for the school summer holiday. (We looked at staying at the hotel but it was so expensive.)

We went in June last year on a weekday and it was heaving by midday We were surprised as we didn't think it would be too bad, those pesky kids on 'study leave' Whatever day you go i'd say get there early and do the popular rides on your list first
