Best "date night" restaurant?

We have a sitter arranged for one night during our upcoming WDW vacation. I'd like to hear some opinions on the best non-park WDW restaurant for food and atmosphere for a date without the kids. I know Victoria and Alberts is the flagship, but to be honest, there's something about GF that leaves us just a little bit cold. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

BTW --- we're not necessarily tied to WDW for dinner. I don't see a forum category for offsite dining, and we'd welcome all suggestions. We've eaten at both of Emeril's Universal locations, and for our money, these have been the best Orlando dining experiences we've had, but we want to expand our horizons . . .

Although we haven't been, DH and I are having our date night at the Yacthman's. We are dropping the kids off at the day care thing (can't remember the name) at the Beach and Yatch club.

Some of our on property favorties

(after that cold stuffy place V&A at the Red Roof Inn :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

Yatchman's Steakhouse

Bistro De Paris

Flying Fish

I've heard tons of great things about Emeril's place and the K-Man and i will have to try it sometime.

p.s. I KNOW....it IS sad to laugh at one's own jokes, but couldn't resist!

Yachtsman in YC or ARtist Point in WL.
Narcoosee's at GF is good too if you schedule about the time for Wishes you can step outside on the deck and watch. Last time our waiter brought our coffee outside to us.

Suggestions:
Palio at the Swan
Artist Point at WL
Blue Zoo at the Dolphin

Yachtsman sound like a near-consensus. We actually had reservations at Artists Point on our last vacation, but our younger DD became ill so we cancelled the sitter. They have some interesting things on the menu there that I wanted to try. Thanks for the suggestions so far. MD: "Red Roof Inn". :rotfl2: Yer killin' me!

I would agree with these three and also add in Jiko and Citrico's. All are high end restaurants, with good food and service.

My choice would be Artist Point. Really great food, and perhaps a bit more quiet than other Signature restaurants at WDW.

Thanks for the tip....we'll be sure to hit it this August. Have you eaten at Mythos? I heard thats suppose to be good.

do you have a food preference??

Good question. Both my wife and I will eat just about anything, and we like being adventurous. So as between two good restaurants, if one has a more eclectic menu than the other, we'd probably go there. That's why Artists Point is high on our list of places to try. Buffalo, elk, duck, venison -- you can't get that stuff everywhere, and they all sound great to me. My wife is intrigued by the salmon entree that's roasted on a plank.

V and A's would normally be first, but you'd prefer something else.

Citrico's, California Grill and Jiko are great.

Off-property: Try BICE at Universal's Portofino Bay Hotel.

Stick w/ Artist Point. It sounds like its right up your alley! :)
I hope your night w/ out the kids is wonderful and you enjoy every minute of it! :)
