We are headed to DL for the first week after Memorial Day, WDW vets but never been to DL. We are only eating CS lunch and dinner. What are your best suggestions of places and particular menu items. It will be DH, DS15, DS13 and myself. Boys aren't very adventurous with food. THANKS!

Plaza Inn fried chicken meal!!! You will be full, lots of people share between two people and it is yummy!!! Also like the Pacific Warf In CA for the soups in bread bowls! Again, very filling!!!

Another vote for Plaza Inn fried chicken meal. We shared this meal and got an extra side of potatoes. Plenty of food for both of us. Had ribs at Flos V8 cafe in DCA which were really good. I read through these boards and went on you tube and got great info.

French Market in New Orleans Square is one of my favorites for a legit quick serve meal.
Bengal BBQ skewers across from Indiana Jones is awesome for a light meal or hold over snack
Lobster Rolls and Clam Chowder bread bowls from Harbour Galley across from Haunted Mansion are delish.
Giant stuffed baked potatoes from Troubadour Tavern in Fantasyland are pretty good.

We like Smoke Jumpers, and Boardwalk Pasta and Pizza in DCA.

We like the Red Wagon corn dogs at DL.

There's a lot of other places we like in DL, they just aren't counter or quick serve.

Plaza Inn: The fried chicken!
French Market: Roasted half chicken (plenty to share), Jambalaya, French Dip Sandwich
Jolly Holiday: Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato-Basil Soup, so many delicious desserts

plaza inn fried chicken (but maybe not for teenage boys since comes with green beans but good!)
rancho del zocalo burritos or tostada salad / cocina cucamonga in dca burrito or tacos
smokejumpers grill burgers
stage door café chicken strips/w fries or corndog w/fries, funnel cakes

Plaza inn fried chicken! If you don't want green beans ask for two sides of potatoes. They will accommodate. The also have roast if you don't want the chicken. I've never eaten that personally since I don't eat red meat but I know people who like it. GET A BREAD BOWL! The original bread bowls are to the west of pirates before the pieces of 8 shop. It's a walk up counter. There it's clam chowder or vegan gumbo (can be spicy but soooo yummy). Golden horseshoe at DL has fried fish and fries, chicken and fries, or chili bread bowl. There is inside with air conditioning or outside walk up. Pick the shorter lines. Harbor galley by haunted mansion has clam chowder bread bowls.
DCA has bread bowls on the wharf. There it's again clam chowder, broccoli cheese soup, and usually a seasonal one. You can also get chicken salad in a bread bowl. Ask for the salad on the side and you can save the bread bowl to munch on.

We visited DL/DCA last month. Below are the CS meals that we had in the park.

DL: Stage door cafe for lunch. We each had corn dogs and fries. It was really good - fresh.

DL: Jolly holiday bakery cafe for lunch. It was all delicious. Tomato basil soup, oven roasted turkey on ciabatta, jolly holiday salad, kids Mac and cheese meal, and a celebration cupcake.

DCA: Award Weiners for lunch. We each had a plain hot dog with chips.

Our favorite CS meals are at...

In DL - Corn Dog Wagon, Rancho del Zocalo and Plaza Inn

In DCA - Corn Dog Castle, Cove Bar and Pacific Wharf Cfe

In DTD - Earl of Sandwich

In GCH - Whitewater Snacks

At DL

Our two favorites...
Plaza Inn
Jolly Holiday Bakery

At DCA

Flo's V8 Cafe
Pacific Wharf Cafe

:wizard:

DLR - Rancho del Zocalo - big portions.
DCA - Cozy Cones - mac n cheese cones and the chili cones are really good!
DtD - Jazz Kitchen Express - they have beignets and cinnamon french toast (really beignets) dippers for breakfast.

In DCA The Cove Bar is an inbetween cs and ts. There are servers but it is not as expensive and it is like going to a ts and just ordering apps ;) DD and I went this past Feb and spent $22 plus tip for a filling lunch (split the nachos and had a drink each). Can't beat the view!

For WDW regulars, this is what I would consider the best CS options that are unique to DLR:

1. Corn dogs from stage door cafe (cheaper) or the corn dog cart (the Best Corn Dogs in the world!)
2. Bengal BBQ across from jungle cruise. Meat skewers and bacon wrapped asparagus skewers (More of a snack than a full meal, a little pricey but delicious!)
3. Bread bowls with clam chowder (or a few other soups) from the wharf in DCA or Harbour Gallery or Royal Street Veranda in DL.

Meals:
DL--Rancho del Zocalo
DCA- Boardwalk Pasta and Pizza

Snacks:
DL--Dole Whip (eaten in the Tiki Room!)
DCA--Cozy Cone soft serve ice cream cones

Our regular stops each trip are red wagon (at least twice per trip) for the best corn dogs ever!!! Plaza Inn, DH and DD usually share a fried chicken plate while DS and I get a corn dog from the red wagon. Stage Door for chicken strips, fish n chips, or a chicken strip salad. Last trip we finally tried Rancho Del Zocalo and really enjoyed that, DH and I shared a meal, portions are pretty generous. We eat all CS meals except once per trip we go to Cafe Orleans, DH and I share a monte cristo, those are a must eat! In DTD we like the walk up counter at Ralph Brennans, we prefer the beignets there over the ones in DL, you can order then with your meal but wait to pick them up until you are finished that way they are hot n fresh. In DCA we don't have any particular favorites.

At DL: The Jolly Holiday combo at Jolly Holiday is great. We love Ranco Del Zocalo because its good and filling and they have fresh brewed ICED TEA.

At DCA: The burgers at Smoke Jumpers in DCA are good and the topping bar is great - we load up on the veggies! We also liked Flo's for breakfast and need to try dinner or lunch there.

My favorite is The Plaza Inn. Great food, the ability to dine and look out over Main Street and the ambiance of being in the only space designed and decorated by Lillian Disney herself. Also, we go to dinner early (4:30~5) and it's very quiet in there at that time - a nice break from the noise and crowds.

In DL we love golden horseshoe and Plaza Inn. Oh and Little Red Wagon!
In CA we love Flo's, Cozy Cones and the bread bowls at Pacific Wharf. :)
