What are your recommendations for CS at the monorail resorts? We are staying at CR. Are there any worth doing that are different than the usual resort CS for breakfast or dinner?
Thanks

I did not find gasparillas at GF to be all that. However, the kids loved the soft serve machine which is self serve. They had topings next to it so you could make your own sundae. I don't think if its worth a trip to GF just for that.

Capt. cook's at Poly sounds great though. I checked out the menu and it is definitely better that Gasparilla's. I've also read that the new CS place at contemporary is good.

Forgot to mention that Captain Cook's also has Dole Whips!

Haven't been to the new CS place in the Contemporary yet.

I think that the newly redone quick service restaurant at the Contemporary is the best, then Captian Cooks, then Gasparilla. The one at CR has yummy chips, and good bakery items, the sugar cookies were so good!!

We really like the food at Capt Cooks at the Poly...we are staying at the CR in June and plan on eating at the food court there

great thread! I was wondering this same thing. We're staying at SOG and since the food there is gag I was hoping to make use of the monorail CS since it's an easy walk from Poly and monorail to SOG.

I take it you don't like them? That's okay- more for me! :thumbsup2

It's the ingredients I don't like -- Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Caseinate, Mono & Diglycerides, Artificial Flavor, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Phosphate, Yellow 5 & 6

I'd rather wrap myself in polyester than put that stuff in my body. So you won't get any competition from me!

Of course, I don't know what's in the other food served by Disney, but the stuff made fresh on-site has to look less like a chemistry experiment than Dole Whip.

To each his/her own. I make it a point to eat in a very healthy manner all the time. Once a year on vacation, I let myself enjoy what I want and not stress over it!

Dole whips are delicous! Of course I've been know to eat freshly made scrapple, too.

Back on topic... has anyone heard anything about CS at CR?

What's scrapple?:confused3 Another fan of Cap'n Cooks. For some reason I love their grown up grilled cheese.:rotfl: My husband likes their flat breads or pulled pork sandwiches.

I like Captain Cooks as well- pork sandwich or grown up grilled cheese. Even better but the hours are wierd is the Sushi Kona bar upstairs.

We will be staying at the GF and I read that you can walk to the Poly so I may do that and try the Tonga Toast. :thumbsup2 I was reading the menu and it said Aloha pork sandwich. Is that like a BBQ pork sandwich or is it a different sauce? It also said it comes with poly chips. Can someone tell me if these are like potato chips or are they different in some way? Thanks,

Loralie
