Pacific Wharf - the broccoli soup in a bread bowl. So yummy!
Ooh, is that the one that's like a wharf (duh :lmao:) overlooking PP? I think we went there a few years back and got the chowder bread bowls, but you have me convinced, that cheesy broccoli soup sounds superb!

I'd have to say I'm in the minority here regarding Rancho del Zocalo..... our experience was horrendous there. The set up didn't seem to work: a line for the tacos/burritos, a line for enchiladas, a line for salads then get your drinks & line up for the cashier. They put the food on heavy china plates & after holding the trays for a while, you get a bit tired. We had 5 in our party, 2 adults went in to get the meal.... we had to use all 3 food lines & by the time we got all 5 meals, drinks & paid for our meal it had taken almost 25 mins. The food picked up first was cold.
The food was greasy & tasteless. (we love mexican food & had heard great reviews on this restaurant). The beans were watery & the rice had no flavor. Now the meal wasn't a total loss...... the lime seasoned chips were excellent & that would be the only thing we'd get there again!

Our favs: DCA- Taste Pilot's Grill & Pacific Wharf Cafe
DL- Hungry Bear & Coke Corner

I love Rancho, but I totally agree with you about the set up. It takes them several minutes to make a salad (and if there is a line, of course it takes that much longer), so if you get your hot food first, it does tend to cool off.

We have always had a good experience with the food, the only thing I DON'T like is the lime seasoned chips! :rotfl:

In DL:

Redd Rockett's Pizza Port - Love the Chicken Fusilli and Foccacia - and one serving of the pasta is big enough for 2 people to share.
Bengal BBQ - The skewers are wonderful.
Coke Corner - Mickey pretzels with HOT cheese sauce (better than the cold from the carts) and cream cheese pretzels and my favorite hot chocolate in the world (I can't figure out what it is, but hot chocolate just tastes better in Disneyland.)

We must have been separated at birth! The things you listed are the exact same restaurants and items that I would have listed!

There are only a couple of additions I would make to your list. My DS's favorite thing at DL is the grapes from any of the fruit carts and the fruit cup (more like a box really) from Whitewater Snacks. I also love the French Dip and the beef nachos from Whitewater Snacks. My DH and I order both those items and share with plenty of leftovers.

Finally, I would also recommend the Sonoma Chicken Salad at Pacific Wharf. Personally, I don't like soggy bread, so I always ask for the bread to be served on the side and my soup or salad to be placed in a regular bowl.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one..... but that's okay, that's what makes these forums so helpful. We all have different likes & dislikes & its best just to form your own opinions & what works for you &/or your family!!

Ok I'm from Texas and LOVE tex-mex....is zocolo like the mexican food you get at a restaurant in CA b/c i'm not a fan of that....:rolleyes1

Eh, that's not bad. I'm a fan of a big ol' cheeseburger. Apparently me being an East Coast-er means that I'm required to go to In-N-Out burger once I land.

My favorite counter service restaurant in Disneyland is River Belle Terrace, and my favorite in California Adventure is Pacific Wharf Cafe.

I totally agree.

We just went to River Belle Terrace today (not sure i had ever been there before) and the turkey sandwhich was really good. It's real turkey, not deli meat and it came with 2 sides and a pickle.

I also will agree with Pacific Wharf at DCA. That's one of my favorites.

Good entree-sized salads at Red Rockets Pizza Port. Their pizza is only OK, and good pasta.
The sandwiches at the Tomorrowland Terrace are good and you can eat while watching the Jedi Training Academy or the music shows.

I like Rancho Del Zocalo. If we don't want something from the same line, my husband just split up and go in separate lines. Doesn't take any extra time. The portions there are very large and two things are more than enough for 3 of us (us and our son) to share. Plenty of seating there, too.

I agree that the Taste Pilots Grille at DCA has the best burgers at DLR.

The best reasonably-priced sit-down meal at DLR is at ESPN Zone or House of Blues. Take the monorail from Tomorrowland right there.

Don't forget about the choices in Downtown Disney. It's not like Disneyworld - an extra 10 miinutes and you have a much bigger selection of food. Rainforest cafe is good - or you can get a slice of pizza for around $4 next to Napoli that's good. La BreaBakery has some good choices too.

I didn't even think about Downtown Disney. WE like the walk up window at Tortilla Joe's for a quick meal. Love the tacos.

I am telling you - it is sooo good. I can't wait to get it again when we go in March.

That's crazy - definitely twins then 'cause I have always wanted to try Whitewater Snacks. I have heard great things, but we have just never been able to work it out.

I think you would prefer the tacos and stuff at Tortilla Joe's walk up window in DTD rather than Rancho then. They are more tex-mex style.
