Best cruise months for swimming & shorts??

The DH and I are trying to pick a month for our first cruise. Our children will not yet be in school so we can go any time. We want to be able to swim and wear shorts! We would prefer to go in months other than June, July and August because it is warm at home.

What are your favorite months to cruise??? I'm sorry if this has been a well discussed topic. Thanks for your input!!

I think it really depends on if you are doing the caribbean (7day) or just the bahama (3-4 day) and where you are from.. for us December is the best time as it is SO cold here in the great white north.. we enjoy summers at cape cod so we have no need to go somewhere warm then and love getting away in the winter. We always do the caribbean cruises though - except for cruise number one which was a land/sea in april and it was plenty warm then.

September, October, and November are still quite warm in the Caribbean and the rates are much cheaper....hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 1 but don't let that worry you. Cruise lines are very good a avoiding a storm, yes you might encounter some rough water a bit, but DCL would never put in harms way!!! Can't beat those prices either in the fall.

We are planning a 7 day cruise. We are not opposed to going in September, October or November. It is miserable at home in the winter (Nov. Dec. Jan. Feb. March and part of April) so there is something appealing to going during that time.

How about a Halloween cruise??? We have gone to WDW the last two years for the Halloween party and the weather and the price of accomodations has been great. We have been able to stay at deluxe resorts on property due to the lower off season rates.
