I am trying to plan out our Fast Passes for July and am overwhelmed by some of the resources. Which is the best crowd calendar to use? I am trying to decide between Kenny the Pirate or Tourong Plans. Wil also take any other suggestions! Thank you!

Assume it will be packed. If it’s not, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

A crowd calendar rating of 8 or 9 doesn’t matter. A 3 vs a 9 is different.

You are going in summer. Kids are out of school. It will be crowded but manageable. Have a good plan and enjoy.

It will be crowded or very crowded. That`s been my expectation the past few years, no matter what month its is.

:welcome: To the DIS @HSpain84!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’ve come to the right place. Lots of DISers around that can help with specific questions.

Happy planning!

forget the calendars. They are not accurate anymore. It's always crowded. Just go with what works for you and have fun.

This. Don't bother with them, they have no accuracy value. There are so many variables that they simply can't account for or predict that anything they put out is just a wild guess. Over the past several years, summer hasn't been busy, so don't sweat it.

Also, a couple of years ago, we followed a crowd calendar and it was totally off. The park they recommended was slammed and we hopped to another park to find some breathing room, which was supposedly the worst one to visit that day and it was practically empty. Like a pp said, there are WAY too many variables now (parties, holidays, school closings, after hours events, promos, extending hours etc.) to predict with any real accuracy. After that experience we ditched the calendars.

I actually find mid-to-late July less busy compared to when we usually travel to Disney. We travel at some of the busiest times of the year (Easter, Thanksgiving, have done other big holidays as well), and in comparison, July feels like low crowds to us!

To answer the original question, I find they’re both accurate. I used Touring Plans recently for our spring break trip. Don’t rely too heavily on crowd calendars, though. We pick which park we want to visit on different days. If it happens to match up with what a crowd calendar claims has lower crowds, great, if not, we don’t worry about it. One thing I’ve found is that parks can be busier during days with EMH, so if it’s possible for you to do a different park on those days (unless you want to use the EMH), you might want to try doing that. If it just doesn’t work for you, though, don’t worry about it too much.

In a general sense, you can try to go to the park that had extended hours the day BEFORE. Many people do not have hopper tickets, so the park they start with is their park for the day. Or even for people with hoppers, they may attend the early park and not return to that same park the next day. Also, in general, MK can be crowded Mondays (first park day for many) and Saturdays. AK busy on weekends (so much so, CMs cannot bring guests into AK on weekends all summer). I avoid weekends in Epcot during F&G and F&W, but summer should be ok.....
