OK...this is my FAV dessert on the planet. UNFORTUNATELY I was NOT totally pleased w/ the renditions of it at WDW...and goodness knows I tried it nearly everywhere we ate!

Le Cellier and WPC come closest for flavor. Vanilla bean flecks abound--just right. BUT texture was too pudding-like. (this was the biggest issue w/ WDW creme brulee, IMO--I prefer a more traditional custard-like texture, and I never quite found it at WDW)

Le Chef de France had ALMOST the right texture...unfortunately they put cinnamon in it. That didn't work for me.

Kona's banana creme brulee had the pudding texture and banana flavor, so all off for me.

I have tried WP in MGM in Vegas...very similar to WPC at WDW. Maybe third on my list of best brulees ever. An Italian Steakhouse in Scottsdale mall had the 2nd best ever (nice trio of vanilla, chocolate & mocha). Remarkably, best ever is a local restaurant here in "lowly" Lincoln, NE!!!

Any other votes out there? Was there a custard-like brulee to be found at WDW?

I'm quite the fan of Brulee myself. I think Wolfgang Puck's Express has good creme brulee. On the flip side, the dish I had at the Coral Reef in September was just vile. Combining lime & custard was just nasty.

I am a big fan of creme brulee and also try it most places I go. I am not a big dessert fan anymore, but if they have creme brulee, I normally get it. I do not like the flavored ones, just the original. And I will say the best creme brulee I have ever had was at Victoria & Albert's. It has been a few years, but I still talk about it to this day! yummmmmmmmmmmmm!

As I said in another thread; The banana cream brulee at Kona is sooOOOooo freaking good, I was tempted to strip naked and roll myself in it. :rotfl2:

A few years ago my son and I had some awesome chocolate creme brulee at Fulton's. This was when they were still on the Dining Plan so it was included in our dinner. Any chocolate lover would've been in heaven!!

Wolfgang Puck Express has the best one on property, believe it or not. We've also had a good one at Bistro de Paris.

The maple creme brulee at Le Cellier is my favorite, though I read that they are serving only the vanilla creme brulee now. Can anyone confirm that?

Ive always found wolfgang's to have to much sugar on top and they over carmelize (burn) it.

In september it was 50/50 maple/vanilla in a split dish the maple was my favorite but difficult to order the creme brulee there when you have the smores as an option

The best creme brulee I have had anywhere ever is at Fresh at the Dolphin at WDW:cloud9:

Really good, too. We had it Mother's Day last year, and we were really surprised by how good it was. Very light, with a nice crispy layer of sugar on top.

Vanilla was all that was on the menu last week.

Hmmm...didn't know it was possible to have TOO much sugar, or TOO much caramelizing!!:rotfl: That was the best part of all my brulees last week!

Mom ordered the smores...SUCH a great presentation; unfortunately she said the quality of product was not as good as the quality of presentation. A bit hard on the teeth...

I have heard that LC is serving vanilla now with a raspberry topping - almost a jam consistency. DD is disappointed, was looking forward to trying the maple in December.

I had it at Artist Point as part of the coffee two ways dessert. I think it was vanilla latte creme brulee. I loved it! The mochaccino bread pudding with it was too rich for me.

I liked the old version at Coral Reef - butterscotch brulee with fresh berries on top, but i hear that is no longer on the menu, either.

Vanilla at Spoodles was good, too.

Can you tell we pick our adrs by creme brulee locations????

Good to hear Spoodles has a version for us to try in January - I have DS hooked on it, too - but he's very picky...

OP, this may sound silly - but since you are looking for a "custard-type" version, which to me might translate as thicker, you might want to check out the Soarin' Creme Brulee at Seasons in the Land at Epcot. A treat to enjoy while waiting for your fastpass time.....definitely different than the restaurants, a large portion - (such a thing as TOO much???;) ) and the price is right as it's a CS dessert option or snack option on DDP.

Ok - I do know there are a few more CB addicts like us - more input needed!:cool1:

If you just have to have maple creme brulee, head on over to the Yacht Club Galley. IMO their maple infused creme brulee was a whole lot better than Le Cellier's version! All you creme brulee fans need to realize just how easy it is to make this dish. We make it all the time! My kids make a maple creme brulee that is outstanding! Last night I made chocolate creme brulee with fresh raspberries as a garnish. The best brulee my kids have made is an Irish Creme version. Ohhhh...

For the person who said you can't have too much sugar and can't over-torch--I beg to differ! You can have so much sugar and so much torching that you have a virtual lolipop on the top of your custard! Yuck! (Believe me, I know--my kids have experimented with every level of sugar/torching.)

Kona's isn't super traditional as far as brulees go, but is heavenly in it's own right!

Fulton's Milk Chocolate Creme brulee is fantastic!
